Can Prioritize Only Three Bibles
I used to have five Bibles prioritized with Logos 7. Would see them all when studying a passage. I noticed while working with the Passage Guide this evening in Logos 8 only the top three Bibles were showing. So I prioritized the Bibles, creating five top Bibles. Went back to Passage Guide, only the top three showed. Prioritized again and it shows my five top Bibles still there, but the Passage Guide shows only three. Any suggestions? Thx.

Where in the Passage Guide are you referring to? I don't want to put my foot in my mouth with an incorrect answer. And if I guessed right, what do you have under settings?
Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

And what are the Bibles you have prioritized?

OK thanks... I'm following Morris Proctor's L8 Quickkstart Videos, because my five prioritized Bibles in L7 only show three when I'm running any Passage Guide in L8. So I look at library/listing of all my resources and drag my favorite Bibles (my top five) to the prioritize column... just like Proctor's video on prioritizing. Then I launch the Passage Guide on any passage and only three Bibles show...
Five Bibles prioritized...
Just the first three Bibles show when launching the Passage Guide for John 3:30. I used to have five Bibles here, each with its own tab. Thanks for any ideas!

Steve,
my take: The Message and Amplified both don't have RI functionality, thus they won't show in some functions in Logos. You can prioritize ten or more bibles if you want.

Thanks. What's "RI functionality?"
The Message showed as a fifth Bible (fifth tab) in L7 no problem. And if I move it to the #3 position in L8, then it shows. Basically, when launching the Passage Guide only the top three Bibles show regardless of how many Bibles I've priotized.

I can get comparison to work with The Message and Amplified.
Can you check the settings in the Passage Guide Compare Versions section. It shows in blue when you hover over the section. Make sure it has Top Bibles?

Aah! Your edit shows you are not talking about the Passage Guide, but about a screen layout. (I had started wondering) Either Logos changed a default layout or you changed it and made a custom layout, either way it seems to open your three top bibles. But you can open your other two bibles and then save the layout.

The default 5 Bible display was changed to 3 shortly after the release of L8. I do not know the details, but the change occurred during one of the L8 updates.

The 8.1 Release Notes state "Simplified and renamed the default Home Page “Passage” layout to “Passage Study.”". So it went from 5 Top bibles to 3 Top bibles and from several commentaries to one. You can customize it to include the bibles & commentaries you want, then go to Layouts >> Home Page Layouts >> Passage Study and click on Replace with current layout.

Thanks, Dave; I wasn't sure which release this was changed in. It's not a big deal for me, but now that I'm thinking about this, I'll have to play around with it and see how to have either a Hebrew or Greek Bible to display but not both.

OK... Thanks everyone. Back from a day of chaplaincy. Looks like three Bibles is the default unless it is "replaced." Appreciate all of your inputs and willingness to help. Steve

Put them in a Series e.g. LHB with SBLGNT

Thanks, Dave; I forgot about that feature. Works perfectly. [:)]
