local: filter in library

all resources show shaded i

select a resource and it opens ... but 9/10 times there is no text.

Clicking on the ellipses and looking at the resource info show no info, only a blue rectangle.

No error messages are reported ... it is as if there is no problem!

how do I force the app to reload the resources when it does not know they are missing?

please do not say reinstall (again)

Thanks

please do not say reinstall (again)

...because you have already done so? If not, ahem, please reinstall. [:P]

How many "downloaded" resources do you show (not that work, but that "appear" to be downloaded)? I have known resources to be indicated as downloaded by the app (due to previous installations), but which have not actually downloaded with the new installation. This is only one of the many reasons I encourage users to be judicious in the amount of downloads they make.

    Hi JT.

    Thanks for the reply.

I do not want to re-install because that has been known to break the link between my device and Logos ... resulting in my needing to select the resources again.

There should about 1000 resources on my phone ... they were there when I looked before the recent update. 1000 resources is a fraction of my library, and my phone has more than sufficient storage space etc. It can never be a case of have less ...

Since my OP, I have checked the phone's settings and Logos is not taking up much space (normally #2 after music) ... which suggests the need to re-download almost all of the resources yet again ... but how do I trigger that without a reinstall?

Further more, within the app ... why was a complete lack of text not noticed as an issue!!!

To be honest, I am more than a little frustrated with the mobile app breaking ... with re-install being the first, last and only apparent option. Coupled with L8 desktop's broken library issues relating to tagging, resource collections, and missing 'download' options; and the lack of library filtering in the mobile app itself (also well documented ... such as sorted by 'rank' ... how do get rid of that!!!, no filtering by type or tag ... etc. etc.) ... all I want is to have a stable book reader where I can find resources in my library ... no communist tags etc.; with the possibility of simple fast searching of locally stored resources ... and no assumption that online connectivity is normal for the core features.)

I have bitten the bullet ... reinstall ... wish I had not ... as usual

default homepage ... need to usable all that online junk ... this is a mobile device ... may have deleted stuff from my desktop in doing this ... will see. Awful UI

set to dark mode ... a system setting buried within a resource level menu

just had turn off the communist notes from my main bible ... does this mean I have to do that for all of my other resources, one at a time? Where is the facility to disable this feature universally? Why were my preferences not saved?

as to the downloads... nothing seems to be solved ... now I have 47 downloaded ... the option to cancel downloads ... but no indication of how th progress is going   It is very slow ... a fraction of what should be ... has it stalled ? Who knows?

one error message so far but no indication as to reason or solution! Do not being able to download certain resources mean that they will never download? Will retry? Is a connection issue? Requires an app restart?

Restart the app  filtered the library to show the resources that should be local. most are not Currently about 700 not local. Swipe down ... download all resources ... do I want to download two (2!!!) Resources? No I want to download all of them ... why is the library only counting 2 Missing ? This looks like the same issue that caused the reinstall ... the downloading aspect of the app does not seem to understand what is actually downloaded, and what is missing! How do I poke it to look again?

The current state of play is that no resources have downloaded in the background. I can now library , swipe down and it counts zero resources ... with the option to download all if I choose this giddy option I can confirm that I want to download all 0 resources! Which is exactly what happens ... nothing downloads... I suppose that is consistent... If only it could count!

I'm sorry I can't be of more help. I know you don't like my suggestion to be judicious about downloads, but the mobile app is easy to become corrupted.

I do have a nuclear option as a solution, which may or may not help. When I was more regularly beta testing the mobile app, there were times where I needed to do a fresh install (wipe) of my iPad to fix some issue or another in the Logos app. One thing I noticed is that iOS would not release the "memory" of the downloaded resources from storage. Deleting the app would not release the storage space. You may have the same problem.

Do you have more than one FL mobile app installed on this device?
