Opening layout to passage from Command Line
I have noticed that if I type a passage into the command line, it gives me the option to open the Passage Study Layout to that passage. Is there any way to do that with a custom layout from the command line? I have a layout for sermon preparation I use and have to change the guides and Bible to my passage. It would be nice to be able to open it to my passage all at once.

I accept that with commandline is meant the cmd console in windows. If this refers to the command box in Logos, the following will work as well. Although the "cmd" commandline idea is possible with scripting, there are better ways in Logos itself.
A)To get the "Passage Study" layout to open a custom layout from the Home Screen.
- Click the Layouts button
- Click the Home Page Layouts Section
- Right-Click on Passage Study
- Click "Replace with current layout"
To open a Layout on Startup
- Click Tools Menu
- Click Program Settings
- Under General change the "At Startup Open to" setting to your preferred layout
- Restart Logos to see the change in action
C) In Logos 8 you can make use of the Dashboard
- Open the Home Page
- Click on the Add Item (plus sign in circle)
- Click on Layout
- From the Popup list select your preferred Quick Start Layout

Thank you PJ. I tried those and was able to get it to open from the dashboard. Thank you.

Ensure your Sermon layout has a Passage Guide, and put it on the same link set as your Sermon Guide. Open Layouts >> Home Page Layouts. Right-click Passage Study and select Replace with current layout.
When I tried it, the specific link set for the Guides didn't matter. My two Bibles and Commentary weren't on a link set, but they opened to the same passage from the command box! Experiment with your layout.

Wrong terminology, but Windows doesn't open a Passage Study layout!

Thanks for the help Dave. I still can't get it to work from the Command Box, even with replacing the passage layout with my own. Oh well. Thanks anyway.
