Logos 8 Notes Tool queries
Dear Sir
I have the following queries on the Logos 8 Notes Tool:
1) Hypertext links
How do I set up hypertext links in the new Logos 8 Notes Tool? Most of my notes from Logos 7 or earlier have hyperlinks to images and sound files. I would click on a hyperlink to play a sound file or display an image. The hypertext links are not working on the Logos 8 web app. Will they work on the desktop app? Please could you help me with this.
2) Labels vs tags
What is the difference between labels and tags? Please explain.
3) Canvas vs Sentence Diagram
This is obviously not part of the notes tool. I would like to know what the difference is between displaying and/or analyzing a scripture with either the canvas tool or the sentence diagram document. Please explain the difference between the two features.
Thank you.

The current Notes tool is deficient in this. I can't find any future improvement under Upcoming Features in https://www.logos.com/faq/notes.

Labels are not yet implemented in Logos 8 Notes tool. See above faq link.
You apply a Label to resource text with a highlight. It can have many attributes or tags, with/without default values, and assign a name. So, you can classify text with a lot of flexibility.
Tags are one-dimensional, and restricted to text and references. You apply them to Notes, Clippings. You can classify Faithlife resource text with Community Tags, and they are more flexible e.g. Person, Place, Thing

Thank you Dave.
Maybe I should upgrade to Logos 8 and use the two note systems in parallel. Perhaps, the hypertext link problem is a bug.

In Logos 8, my file hyperlinks transferred from Logos 7 Notes are treated as web links. If created in Logos 8, it appears to have the correct format, but the hyperlink does nothing. I will (re-)create a bug report.

If you mean create notes in Logos 7 (Notes files/docs) as well as in Logos 8 (Notes tool), read the FAQ's at https://www.logos.com/faq/notes It isn't advisable to create too many notes in Logos 7 as the sync to Logos 8 could malfunction.

Dear Dave
Thank you for reporting the bug in the hypertext links.
I have found a further problem and/or bug with Logos 8 notes, after I upgraded to Logos 8. The details are as follows:
When I open any resource in Logos 8 there is a separate tab for notes and highlighting, as well as the normal table of contents tab.
After clicking on the notes and highlighting tab to see my notes, I am not allowed to see the rest of the resource when I select the table of contents tab and click on any other section in the resource. Perhaps, this is also a bug. I have to re-open the resource, and not click on notes and highlighting, in order to read the resource as usual.
Please could you or anyone else reading this post get Faithlife to sort this out. Is this notes tab necessary in each resource, when there are visual filters and the notes icon is already attached at the specified position in the resource?
Thank you.

I'll create a Bug report, but please remember that you can create your own by prefacing the thread Title with Bug:
