Searching for questions asked by Jesus, listed by addressee
I can search for questions asked by Jesus to a specific addressee - there's an easy-to-use search template in Logos 8 for that - but I would like to run a search that will group all the questions that Jesus asked by addressee.
Can anyone help?
Thanks.

Hi Kevin
The search below will give you all the questions that Jesus asked, but that's a pretty big list and doesn't really give you what you want!
{Speaker <Person Jesus>} INTERSECTS {Label Question} INTERSECTS {<*>}
You might want to use the Bible Browser (Tools > start typing Bible Browser).
Then select "Reported Speech" > select "Jesus"
Then select "Propositional Outlines" > "Speakers" select "Question"
Then you can go back to Reported Speech, select "Addressees" and you will find a list of all the people/groups of people Jesus addresses with questions.
Hopefully that gives you want to need?!

select "Propositional Outlines" > "Speakers" select "Question"
Sentence Type Interrogative includes Propositional Outlines: Question, Question (Yes), & Question (No)

{Speaker <Person Jesus>} INTERSECTS {Label Question}
is significantly faster than wildcard search <*> while having the same search results (suspect <*> matches <Person Jesus> plus more)
Alternative to Label Question is Sentence Type Interrogative (same results)
{Speaker <Person Jesus>} INTERSECTS {Section <Sentence = Interrogative>}

Thanks for this. I obviously didn't dig deep enough!

This is also very helpful. I've not really done many wildcard searches so this was a stab in the dark. I still have so much to learn about search!

Thanks very much for your replies - very helpful.
The missing bit for me is the ability to sort the list of questions into groups (with a count) by addressee. Using the browser shows the number of hits by addressee in the sidebar but I can't find a way of getting this information into a passage list. My ideal would be a resulting passage list or spreadsheet where, for example, it shows
> Peter (n)
n verses listed
> John (m)
m verses listed
Any ideas?

The closest I can get to what you want still leaves you with quite a bit of work!
You can save the Browser information into a Passage List
giving
You can then search for individual addressees within that Passage List - but you would need to do each one individually
A nice way for this to work would be if the Analysis view were extended to allow grouping by Speaker or Addressee (or a range of other attributes) - but it can't do that at the moment.
