How do I use Copy Bible Verses Tool to copy and paste a partial verse?
Logos does not recognize partial verses in a Bible reference because they are translation dependent and loosely defined. Copy the entire verse and delete the portion you are disinterested in if using the CBV tool. In the Context Menu (right-click) you can select a partial verse and copy the selection.
Thanks — I appreciate it. That's more steps and clunkier than I want it to be. I had another post where I said this — wondering if you know the answer:
I want to be able to
• Highlight a Bible verse
• Hit the keyboard shortcut to copy
• Hit the keyboard shortcut to paste and what appears is the verse I highlighted plus the reference.
This works so well in Accordance. Does Logos not have the ability to do something this simple?
The Copy Bible Verses Tool does this.
With it open it will - by default - follow where you click in a Bible and then you have a range of Copy / Paste options including references and different formatting.
Thanks, Graham! I appreciate the response. Unfortunately, CBV falls short as
1. I don't prefer CBV to be open and taking up screen space
2. I don't prefer to mouse and click around with CBV when this should be professional level software, demonstrated by more developed keyboard shortcuts for alternative copy/paste options.
3. I don't prefer being forced to copy entire verses.
Accordance handles this well, on all points above. I'm surprised that working pastors and scholars who are copying and pasting Scripture constantly aren't more frustrated with Logos's limitations, here.
I actually keep a copy of Accordance running while using Logos, for the sole purpose of having a way faster method and more nimble method for copy/pasting Scripture.

It looks as though you aren't alone!
Good to know I'm not alone. Thank you!
