BUG...I THINK????
Okay, let me try this again. (I typed it up already but got an error.)
I installed Logos 8 on my Mac. It got stuck at either preparing library or indexing at 2%. I called FL and they had me do a rebuild index. It ran, but after it ran, I still have at the top of my screen "Logos Bible Software - For the Love of God Devotional." I don't have it open and I don't know why it's there. Thoughts?

Close the program and start it again?

Yup, I've done that several times.

That looks like the name of a layout. What is your Program Settings option set to for "At Startup Open to"? Try using the "Close all panels" button in top right corner of the main window.

Okay, got it. That's so weird, Andrew, because I had that prior to the reinstall, CS couldn't tell me why it was there, and even thought it would go away after the rebuild. Anyway, it's gone now. Thanks.

Okay, I figured it out. Today I sat at my desktop computer (it's a PC running windows 10). Anyway, when I opened Logos, the screen opened to "For the Love of God Devotional." So I had it open (even though the program was completely shut down) on my PC. I don't like that feature so I'm assuming it's something in settings that I need to fix that tells it not to mimic my other computer?

Never mind. I found it. Somehow I guess (and I have no idea how I did it), "For the Love of God Devotional" was set as my homepage when I start up.
Where I think it gets funky is that when I started up my homepage on the Mac, I didn't see any "For the Love of God Devotional" actually open anywhere.
Whatever...It's figured out.

In Program Settings, for At Startup Open to, your PC has:
- For the Love of God Devotional, or
- "Most recent layout - any"
The first is the specific layout name, the second means to use the last layout saved anywhere, which means the layout can come from your Mac.
To avoid that, use the option "Most recent layout - local"; which will only open to layouts saved by your PC.

On PC? Then avoid it as above.

Are you mixing the layout name with the actual book name? Because, the book doesn't have to be open in the layout!
If you want to keep the Mac and PC separate, then use "Most recent layout - local" on both machines.

Thanks Dave! As usual, you rock!
I have to say, this is the very first time that someone at FL couldn’t tell me what was happening. And, I did tell him that I already had it installed on my PC and was attempting to set it up on my MAC Laptop, so he knew I had two computers. Anyway, I guess because I’m always so impressed with the CS there, it shocks me that someone missed it! LOL
