"Remove annotations" menu item (from context-menu) is switching location
Hello
This is not really a bug, but quite an annoyance.
Steps to reproduce:
- Mark/annotate some text
- Right click on the annotated text:
Now it takes 1-3 seconds (maybe this depends on resource/cpu/connection speed?)
and then the "final" menu comes up:
As you can see, the "Remove annotations" switched position and is no longer at the bottom. This leads to tons of "mis-clicks" when I go over resources to work with or clean up annotations.
Solution would be to keep "Open annotation" and "Remove annotations" at the bottom (and possibly same screen position!)
Thank you very much for considering an improvement here.
God bless you
Chris

Hi Chris,
That's a good point that you brought up.
A possible work-around would be to use the keyboard short-cuts:
Shift+Ctrl+K (Windows) or Shift+Command+K (Mac)
These might even prove faster for you than using the context menu, as well as being more "accurate."

Be aware, however, that this shortcut functions differently. If you want to completely remove an annotation, you'll need to select ALL text that includes the annotation (potentially problematic if you wish to remove something that has multiple anchors).

Great, thanks :-) I'm a little embarrassed, that I didn't consult the shortcuts list first, I thought such a function would not make it there [8-|]

I have observed this on occasions, but the delay has been much shorter. However, it hasn't "switched position" because it has gone to its final position after building the menu. What are your computer specs?

I have this on all Windows-PC's I'm working on. The „Remove annotations“ is clearly shifting up after a certain delay.
Since I'm a pretty fast clicker, this might be no issue at all for most users, so no worry, I can live with the shortcut (CTRL+Shift+k) easily [Y]
