Logos 8 Notes Improvements - Finally
We have suggested many great Idea that will vastly improve Logos 8 Notes -
For instance: Duplicating Notes instead of Just moving them.
We all need to consolidate note, but, we also need to copy or Duplicate valuable information from one note to another. We need to be able to Copy Citation hyperlinks and anchors into duplicate notes.

Good idea.

Bad idea.
Assigning a single note to multiple Notebooks may not be a bad idea, but having multiple copies of the "same note" is simply bad design (think Single Source of Truth). I have wished for the ability to duplicate a note, not for having it in multiple places but for reducing the need to copy elements, recreate the same list of tags, etc.

There are Many reasons why duplicating a note is critical.
I will only use one here: When I have an important collection of citations that will strengthen my ideas in multiple presentations, I want to be able to copy/duplicate them into another Notebook for that specific presentation. I do not want to have to go looking for it separately in the middle of my presentation, which takes too much time. I want to be able to simply copy and past all the hyperlinks and anchors into as many notebook presentations as I need. Hyperlinks work well with this idea, not sure how Anchors will work with this. We should have the option of using anchors or hyperlinks if we choose to duplicate notes into multiple notebooks.
Consolidation is good. Consolidation is essential; Consolidation is necessary; but, Consolidation is NOT THE ONLY way to be efficient.
You can consolidate yourself right into a trap. I need to have copies of notes in varies places. It is FASTER to access the data for many of us.

But why do that when you can have the same note in all of those places, rather than duplicates of it?

It would be good if we could tag to different folders instead of duplicating it. Duplicated notes are horrible idea because if you edit it you will not know which one unless you edit them all. If we could tag single file then changes would show in every folder

If I have the SAME NOTE in many places - then it is Duplicated.
How can you have the same note in many places without duplicating it?
I suppose you can "Create' a new note with all the same links and citations anchors in it - But, WOW - that takes way too much time.
Much easier to just copy it.
You used to be able to COPY all your hyperlinks into as many notes as you wanted in LOGOS 7.
If they would just bring that back then the problem would be solved. I understand that the Anchors may not be able to be copied - How would the anchor know which note to refer to. I get that. So the answer is to give us the option to use Anchors or hyperlinks in the body of the note.

Wrong. If it's the same note, you're simply displaying one note in many places. Duplicating would create a NEW note. Editing the original note would have no effect on the duplicate.

If you open up the same notebook using several different note tools and change the data it any of them, it automatically changes the data in all of them.
In other words, I can open the same note many times over and no matter which one of the notes I alter it will make the same changes in all of them.
This is great.
However,
If I can duplicate/copy the notebook, that feature should not work, because creating a new note will separate it from the original. This is great because I am only concerned about transferring important data, rather than creating a copy that will absolutely link to the original. I do not need it to link to the original. I just want to be able to copy the data and hyperlinks to the resources for a new presentation.
Copying a note should disconnect it from the original and give you the ability to manipulate it without changing the original.
I like that. I will be making changes to copied notes that I do not want to be changed in the original.
If I could copy the hyperlinks in the notes like in Logos 7 much of this problem would be solved from my perspective.
I just want to be able to copy the citation hyperlinks and not be BOUND by the anchors which you cannot copy.

[:D]
I meant the DATA is duplicated.
I do not want the Copied note to be linked to the original.
I want to copy and transfer the Hyperlinks/anchors and Data just like you could in Logo 7.
It was awesome in Logos 7. Copy all the hyperlinks into a new note - Easy as pie.
Until they bring this feature, our group, ministry and youtube community will be petitioning for this feature.
God, bless you always my friend.

Feature parity with L7 is a high priority right now, so you stand a good chance, (IF you make this the argument)! 😉

That is an interesting Idea.

Tagging notes is a great idea, but editing the copied version would not affect the others.
That is the best way to set it up for the duplicated note.
