Copy Bible Verse to Pages on Mac with Pages Style Formatting
I used to use Word but am now fully in the Mac platform at work and on laptop. So I'm saving money be doing way with Office 365 sub and using iWork since I was already using Keynote anyway.
I had a Copy Bible Verse style created that would copy directly into a Word document and format the pasted text as a Word Style called Quote. I am now using Pages and have a similar style set up called Bible Quote to differentiate between that an other kinds of quotes. I like the different formatting for want I am preaching. I can look down and see large red text for Bible quotes and large purple text for other quotes.
here is the style in Logos Copy Bible Verse...
%NoCharFormatting
%NoRedLetter
%NoFootnotes
%NoCitation
%HeaderStyle = Bible Quote
%ForEachVerseStyle = Bible Quote
%FooterStyle = Bible Quote

=Header
[FullPassageRef], [Version]

=ForEachVerse
[VerseNum]- [VerseText]
=Footer{
}
What do I need to change to make it past into Pages? Right now it won't. It switches to Pages but doesn't paste the text.

Have you tried another style to see if that would work? My style works in Pages as does the Fully formatted style. What pages won't do is automatically footnote other texts that you copy to it.

Kevin,
I tried your style and it does switch to Pages and pastes the verse. It does not, however, put it in the Bible Quote style (I happen to have a style with the same name, imagine that).
According to the Help File, the Styles are for Microsoft Word:
• %HeaderStyle= Word style — header will use the specified Microsoft Word style
• %ForEachVerseStyle= Word style — verse(s) will use the specified Microsoft Word style
• %FooterStyle= Word style — footer will use the specified Microsoft Word style
• %FootnoteStyle= Word style — all footnotes, including citations, will use the specified Microsoft Word style
• %CitationStyle= Word style — citation footnotes, only, will use the specified Microsoft Word styleSo you won't be able to get the style you want. But I don't know why it won't paste at all. I would try restarting Pages and Logos and trying a default style to see it will work.

I am no expert (probably just lazy).
I would (do in some ways) tackle you problem this way.
- Set up your style in Copy Bible Verses (CBV) as far as it will work.
- Set up the bits that won't work as a style in Pages.
- Before pasting set the Pages Style and just paste using Cmd V.
Whie writing this I have just realised that I never use the 'Copy to Pages' button - it has never given me a satisfactory result and due to operator error has often copied in the wrong place.
I like to watching where it goes when I paste. :-)

You may already know this—and it's only a workaround—but you can set shortcut keys for Styles in Pages.
In the Inspector Panel, click on the down arrow by the Style.
Then move your mouse pointer over the right edge of a particular style and and a right arrow will appear. Clicking it gives you a menu with several options, including setting a shortcut key.

I'm guessing the problem might be my trying to convert a Word style in CBV to Pages. I might try to work with starting over. I am also guessing the inability to create the text in a style on Pages is an Apple limitation rather than a Logos limitation. This trying to only use Pages might not go so well. Trying to save money, but might have to keep with Word.

Kevin, I upgraded to Word 2019 (actually Office home edition) on Amazon for about $130.
