Windows Logos 8 splash screen
I built a new pc today, I have always been a Mac man but the cost of what I wanted made me switch. So far I have been pleased.
However, is there a way to turn off the Logos 8 splash screen (the logo) On the mac it just starts...I prefer this.

Don't worry about the splash screen. Use the command Set Use Ngen to Yes to speed up Logos when starting (works from the second restart).

I have heard about this command. What does it do? Also, do you mean restart the app or pc twice? Thanks for the help

I mean you have to restart the PC, but you should notice that it is considerably faster loading your layout from the second restart onward. Just do it!

Ok, I did it, I didn't see a noticeable improvement but perhaps I will going forward. It's already pretty quick with my M.2 drive. Do I need to do this after every update?

The internal timing from logs will show a difference. It was noticeable with my old HDD.
To generate logs automatically (without the CTRL key) see https://wiki.logos.com/Diagnostic_Logging#How_do_I_get_a_diagnostic_log.3f . In Logos.log (which is a text file) look for main window and Finished startup. The blank window that first appears is the main window, and startup is finished when your layout is fully generated. Note that the first startup after booting the computer will take longer.

No. It's like any other Program Setting. So if you change it to NO, remember to go back to YES.
