CRASH when switching Bibles via Parallel Resource Sets. Windows 8.3 Beta 1 (8.3.0.0001)

The app suddenly closed a few seconds after I used the Parallel Resource Sets icon to switch from The Good News Translation to the New International Readers Version.

The Good News Translation:

Reproducible as described above: This happened three times. Log files from the last two times:

I can't reproduce this.

The crash - I'm looking at the last one - shows that you are trying to set up a lot of visual filters for the NiRV which rely on reverse interlinear tagging. With the NiRV not having RI capability these will not be matching.

The specific one that is being set up when it crashes is {Label Figurative Language}

When I run a search for this in the NiRV I don't get any results but Logos doesn't crash.

So it might not be the cause of the crash but I would look at disabling these visual filters - which won't result in any matches - for the NiRV and see if that affects anything.

Thank you, Graham, for the analysis. Some day I need to learn how to read the logs better.

I managed to turn off ALL filters within the NIrV Resources (un-checking all the boxes under the Visual Filters icon in the NIrV resource toolbar).

The App continues to close when I open NIrV:

Launched Logos to a blank layout
No other tools or resources open
Opened NIrV from the command box
The App closed in about 5-10 seconds (as it did each time before)

I have not had this problem before, but I haven't consulted NIrV for a couple months, so I don't know how long this has been a problem.

The visual filters are still being calculated for the NIrV - I think (but someone would need to verify) that this happens even if the visual filters are disabled in the resource. So it could be worth checking why the Visual Filter documents refer to the NIrV in the first place.

But it also looks as though the issue relates to the Figurative Language filter.

Below is the Visual Filter document for Figurative Language.

For fun, I changed the Bible selection to NASB and then opened the NIrV - no problem. Then, while NIrV was open, I changed the VF back to all Bibles and in about 10 seconds it crashed. Below are the log files for this session along with the VF image.

Thanks for the report Tim! There should be a fix coming in the next beta.

It has to do with some label data we can't read in one of your migrated notes. I can probably get you a workaround if you are stuck and can't wait till next week, but it would be specific to your case and so I'll follow up with you personally if you want to go that route.

Thank you Graham, Philana and Mitch for your help. I am an avid notes and label user - give me a tool and I am quite capable of using it in ways not anticipated. Sorry to have a unique problem and cause you a lot of work.
