Adding multiple anchors to a note?
Is it possible to add multiple anchors at once (as a list, comma separated, etc.)? I often have notes with multiple anchors and entering them one by one (enter the reference, wait for the drop down to open, select the reference, click Add). There has to be a better way?

I have never thought about the scenario you refer to. If there is a way I can't get to work. I do not think the tool is designed to add multiple anchors at the same time. It might be something good for the suggestions forum.
As for adding them one at a time, are you seeing long delays in the drop down populating after entering the reference?

There was a bit of a discussion during the beta IIRC, but I don't think anything got implemented. I think it's worth pursuing.

Thank you for your reply. No, I don't see delays but if you need to add 10-15 anchors to a note, the process is tedious.

I'm seeing long delays after entering the reference--up to a minute. Is there a way to speed this up?

that is certainly not normal. My drop down populate almost instantly. What are your system specs and OS.

My hardware has plenty of horsepower. I suspect there is a setting that is slowing things down. I keep experimenting with the format of the reference--"Genesis" or "ge", a colon, a period, or a space between chapter and verse, and so forth. There is typically a pause from one to five seconds before Logos offers a link to the verse.

I also have horrendous response times to merely somewhat slow on most the drop down menus ... I find it is significantly faster on menus that I recently used rather than first time use so I assume that it is related to what is saved in storage and what has to be built from the beginning.

That's odd. I remember in the early L4 days the drop downs being very slow to populate, but I have not experienced those kinds of delays n a long time. That is true on my Windows PC as well as my Macbook

I suspect that you are correct, MJ. This sounds like a short-term buffer. Later Anchors in the same Notebook are more responsive. Later Anchors to different Notebooks are slow for the first one, then quicker. I would love to be a mouse in the corner to hear the discussions of design decisions by the Logos developers as they weigh the relative merits of different approaches.

I believe I have found a solution (your mileage may vary):
When Notes were converted to Notebooks, each resource had all its Notes and Highlights re-checked. This makes extra work for Logos when adding an Anchor to a Note. The solution to fix it takes a while.
- In each resource that has a Filter icon (looks like three bullets in a triangle), click the icon to open its dialog.
- In the dialog, open the Notes and Highlights dialog by clicking on the solid triangle next to it.
- Un-check each Notebook, but leave the Highlights (Emphasis Markup, Highlighter Pens, and Solid Colors)
Now I get sub-second response when I add an Anchor to an existing Note.

Jack are you aware of the option to turn off a particular filter in ALL resources? Just right-click on the particular Notebook name and choose "do not show in any resources".

No. Thanks Reuben.

Ok, so back to the original post... is there any way to add multiple anchors to a note?

Yeah the picker menus are horribly slow.
They have not gotten any faster in the last week of so either
Just trying to tag (John 3:16) instead of John 3:16 NIV, while reading my NIV is very slow.
I like to add notes to my daily reading that can be seen in all my bible versions, and it really slows things down.

Yes. You can add multiple anchors, but they have to be added one at a time.

Right.. I was asking about adding more than one at a time (see original post).

Understood. Right now that is not possible

This feature is what our Community and You-Tube Channel are hoping for also.

So how are we able to have anchors display the text? or how can i highlight (as if making a new note) and add it as an anchor to a previous note?

If you want the anchor to include the text of the reference, you have to add it is a selection rather than reference

Hi, would anyone know if the original request in this thread is now possible with Logos 10?
To recap, Chr was asking about the possibility of adding multiple anchors at the same time, rather than one at a time.
Thanks very much!

The control that selects which anchor to add only allows one choice or the other, never both. This is built into the computer language and cannot be changed.
If the control were a check box, then more than one could be selected.0 -
There is a feature request on the feedback site that was created a year ago. I just voted for it.

I would use this feature often.
