using maps

I'm trying to use maps more so I know where various places are.  So just now I clicked on Beth-Shemesh, then B-S place in the menu, then atlas.  The atlas opened up, and there it was. On the northern border of Judah.  It had names on all the territories, so wanted to see where all the tribes were.

The map had three options to move around in it.  (I think).  A plus which moved in closer,  A minus that moved further away, made everything smaller, but the names of the territories were no longer visible.  There is also an arrow, up and down, the top one black, the bottom one gray.  I thought this would move the map up and down, but nothing happens.

What am I missing?

Thank you

    Hi Larry,

    It will be good to see other people answer you but one way I can think of is to goto a part of your bible where the town is in a part of the bible that talks about tribes - (perhaps Joshua), right click on the place name and then chose Atlas from the drop down. I;m not sure if that would work but I believe that the atlas is context driven and so it may help you.

    I am guessing there is a more direct approach though so it would be good to see other people's advice :-)

    That's exactly what I did.  But then it's only one atlas, and it's written in German, which I suppose is OK.  But this is Logos with its abundance of resources.  I should have a lot of options, and not just one.

    Thank you

    I agree Larry. I am a very visual person myself and I love to see the locations on a map. It would be great if we could automatically overlay different features over a common map rather than have different map images for different things. One day perhaps :-)

    There are different types of maps in Logos, but you can usually drag the map to move around (just like Google Maps).
