Logos app showing as “Unavailable” on Kindle Fire HD8 App Store
I just bought a Kindle Fire HD 8 (7th gen). I am running Fire OS 5.6.3.0
But when I went to install the Logos app, it was listed as “currently unavailable”
Why is the Logos app unavailable?

Not only is the new version of the app not compatible with Fire OS 5.6.3.0, it also appears to be incompatible with Fire OS 5.3.6.4. See here. This is a very unfortunate situation, and I hope Faithlife is able to work around it.

This is what really annoys me. I called Faithlife and spoke to customer support to verify that this device would run the Logos app before I purchased.
They confirmed this device with these specs would run the app.

The Logos Android app should be nearly identical with the Verbum Android app - they have the same codebase and version and exactly the same requirements. So if you see one and not the other in the Amazon store, there seems to be an issue with the store rather than the app.
Sometimes there are weird hangups with one or the other app version before they appear in the store. If I was you, I'd run Verbum for the time being and expect Logos to be available in a few days or so.

Since FireOS 5 is equivalent to Android 5.1, the updated app should be compatible. I'm sure it was just a mistake when publishing it. I'm not so sure that FL has noticed it yet... Let's keep bumping.

I get both Biblia! (Spanish Logos) and Verbum (Catholic Logos) in the search results, but no "Bible" (English Logos).
Grab both of those apps. All of your English Protestant resources will work just fine.
Amazon needs to be pushed to allow one publisher to have multi apps on the Kindle app store.
The app will work fine - just that Amazon keeps very tight controls

Interesting...
For those of who who just can't wait on Faithlife...
I installed the Google Play store on my Kindle Fire HD (7th gen)
I followed the very simple instructions here:
I was then able to download the Logos app. It's working great, and my notes/highlights are syncing across devices...no lag.

Thanks for sharing how to do this! I've always wanted to be able to do this without rooting my tablet. This is life changing. lol
By the way. The link you posted didn't work but here's the correct one: https://www.howtogeek.com/232726/how-to-install-the-google-play-store-on-your-amazon-fire-tablet/

If you're getting a Kindle Fire to run Logos, reconsider. It's terrible on the Kindle Fire. In fact I just wrote a post about the 5 best Bible study apps for the Kindle Fire and left it off because it barely runs.

Until Amazon releases the latest Logos Bible mobile app for the Kindle Fire (8.1.2 ?), would it be possible for Faithlife to simply "re-release" the last acceptable version of the Mobile app?
It would help me (and maybe some others) to be able to just use what DOES work -- even though it's not the latest version.
THANKS!!

Either that, or quit marketing Kindle as a viable option for Logos. My 2017 Kindle Fire (7th Gen) is still showing as unavailable to run the latest version of the Logos app in the Amazon store.

Okay I'll jump in here...
I have a Fire HD 8 6th Gen running 8.1.2 since 12-16-2018 and a n HD 10 7th Generation running 8.1.2 from the Amazon store. Both devices run the Logos app fine IMHO but the HD 10 is faster, probably because of 2gb RAM vs 1.5 GB.
Edit to above… When I looked at the app in the apps list it showed 8.1.2 but I just looked at the version in the help screen of both devices and it shows 8.0.8 (Build 800080061). So I guess it really isn't 8.1.2. Sorry for the misinformation. I didn't look deep enough.
FYI both are running FIRE OS 5.3.6.4.
Info on Amazon website says that Fire OS 5.3.6.4 is based off of Android 5.1, 22.

Have you seen this thread: https://community.logos.com/forums/t/178470.aspx ?
Maybe installing Verbum (basically the same app) will help you

Hi everyone, sorry about this—there was a problem with the Logos app on Kindle and we had to pull it temporarily. It is currently under review to release again. Thanks for your patience.

Do you have a time frame for when it will be available again?

Version 8.2.1 is now available on Amazon App Store. I updated the app on my Fire HD10 this morning.

It's Here!
Thanks, Logos!!

Sorry to revive an old thread, but This is the most recent post I could find on the "Kindle Fire HD". I purchased an HD10 on the Prime Days promo and it is to be delivered on Friday. Is the Current Logos8 mobile App available on the Kindle store? I really don't want to sideload, but I'm neck deep in the Faithlife ecosystem (Logos8, Proclaim, Faithlife Groups, Faithlife Giving, Faithlife Study Bible, etc.)

I believe so. See here:
It states: "Latest Developer Update: June 27, 2019"

Thanks JT! (even though I know it pains you deeply to know I chose and Android device over an iPad [:D]) But I do still run the app on my iPhone.
