1 Way Sync with New Mobile App
Hi All,
I’m currently running Logos 7.19 on my desktop and the most up to date Logos apps on both my iPhone and iPad. I noticed with the new update that was recently released I’m having problem with syncing highlights. Syncing between my iPhone and iPad works fine. However, those highlights won’t sync to the desktop (I’ve already tried ‘sync now’ in the command bar). Highlights made in my desktop will sync to both iPhone and iPad, but not vice versa. I have tried with multiple books but same problem.
Anyone have any suggestions?

My guess - from what you describe - is you are running Logos 7 style notes on the desktop and using the new Logos 8 Notes Tool on your iphone and iPad.
That would explain why notes on the iPad don't appear on the desktop.
But notes created on the desktop - using "old notes" - are also migrated to the new notes platform which is why they appear on your mobile devices.
Unless there is any reason you don't want to I would suggest upgrading to Logos 8 on the desktop using the free upgrade option - https://www.logos.com/product/168880/logos-8-basic
But be aware that some notes features are not currently available in the new tool.

Hi Graham,
I haven't upgraded to L8 because there are some note features that I depend on that, while planned, haven't been implemented yet. When Logos gets them developed I'll happily upgrade. However, up until this most recent mobile app upgrade, all of the note syncing was working fine. I truly hope that there is a way to get 2 way syncing with those who won't update to L8. It seems at the very least there should have been some sort of warning like "Don't upgrade to this release version if you depend on highlights syncing to L7 desktop."

Actually thinking about this further I think I might have got it wrong anyway.
If I remember correctly, the Logos 8 features - including the new Notes tool - shouldn't be enabled on the mobile app if you don't have a Logos 8 licence. If that is still the case, then my theory doesn't work!
To check this - on the mobile app under View Settings do you have the capability to enable / disable individual Notes Documents? That worked with the earlier notes system but not currently with the new Notes Tool

This is what I have when I click "settings" under the book.
So that says it is using the Logos 8 version of Notes - which means that my original theory might well be right.
If the latest mobile apps use Logos 8 style notes irrespective of whether the user has a Logos 8 licence or not this could be a problem for a lot of people.
I'll see if I can get an answer on this one.

Hey all, thanks for your patience. We have a fix for this scenario. You are right: he is running new notes on web and mobile, but old notes on desktop.
That is because we unlocked L8 Basic automatically for him when we visited app.logos.com. We need to make a internal change where we don't unlock New Notes feature in that scenario.
