Feature Request - Automatically Generated Milestones
I have a lot of ebooks I'd like to add with functions to Logos but there's a major problem. It's not feasible to add milestones to entire books, especially Encyclopedias, and most of all, Bibles. Apparently I would need to add a milestone to every single verse. That's impossible. It could take a year or years. I'm asking for Logos to make it so the book builder can generate milestones automatically. I don't know if this is possible or not. Even if it has some errors, correcting those errors is a lot easier than manually placing milestones for every verse.

Bible references are automatically tagged I believe, but Faithlife are not likely going to build more tools so that we spend less with them.
If what you are wanting to import is not available already in Logos, perhaps you can suggest it and then get a good deal on pre-pub?

Essentially, you are requesting that milestones be generated from text like:
22 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’ ”
and4 After this I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven! And the first voice, which I had heard speaking to me like a trumpet, said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this.”
What do the numbers represent? What bible book and/or chapter is it in?
I can tell you that the first comes from Rev 3, and the second comes from the next verse, which is in Rev 4 (ESV), but how would software know?
People that have experience with bible Personal Books could tell you how to make the task easier, but you would have to add the milestones.

well i'm hoping to buy via installments an orthodox bronze library next month. It remains to be seen if i'll be able to. pre-pub imo don't really provide much of a substantial discount. I also couldn't justify spending hundreds of dollars on one resource even if I could afford that kind of thing, and I definitely can't. I was wanting to add a Bible ebook I have which includes the apocrypha.

Douay-Rheims Bible (DRA) also includes deuterocanonical books, which has free access via Verbum 8 Basic

It's a very useful feature. I have my own Bible software, and that's how I populate it with books I need.
As Dave illustrates, trying to parse the sections or verses is not easy. So, I end up with a set that fits common situations (verse-chapter-book being frequent in Bible software). But it always demands editing (the parsers) because publishers are never consistent ... one little fluke, and off we go. Footnotes are the worst.
And the other issue is what the user (me) wants (formatting, tagging). In my case, I standardize all incoming so that other routines can easily be coded. But each user would have their own preferences.

I appreciate the help. I wouldn't want to use such outdated translations of Apocrypha. I looked for Charlesworth's and saw the price which is why I was looking to add my own.
