Note icon missing
I used to see the not icon (the yellow badge) for all my notes next to verses. Now after the update to Logos 8, the icon is missing for all of my notes. I have to go search my notes to find out if I wrote a note on a specific verse. Having the icon there was the main reason I began using the Logos Bible App. How can I get the icons back for all my notes? Appreciate any help. Daniel

Hi Daniel,
Can you just check that the "Notes and Highlights" visual filter is ticked. https://support.logos.com/hc/en-us/articles/360016529972-Visual-Filters has details of where to find it.

I have been having this problem as well, both on imported notes from Bibleworks and native notes made in Logos. I can make it appear by changing the Highlight Style from "none" to anything, and then back to nothing. That makes the note appear. This, however, is not a great workaround when you have several thousand notes.

Hi Kevin,
The "Notes and Highlights" visual filter is on on my Mac, but I don't see a similar filter on my Logos Bible App on my phone (an Iphone 7). Thanks for the help so far.
Also, when I re-installed the app on my phone, the note icon DID appear, much to my delight. Then, as Logos sent the message that it was updating to Logos 8, the note icons vanished right before my eyes. The notes are still there, but only if I open a new window and search them. I need that note icon back next to each verse that I have added notes to.

Hi Daniel,
I do not use iphone, but on android you can turn notes for a particular resource in the at the bottom of 'View Settings' from the individual resource 3 dot menu. Hopefully something similar for you.

Ben have you created a thread about this? Perhaps there is an unknown issue on the import of Bibleworks notes?
You can select multiple notes at the same time and apply a note icon to all of them at once, including using the shift-clicking to select everything between two notes. You will just have to have a correct filter applied to choose the notes you want to change the icon on.

Currently these notes icons are only shown for resources that are downloaded to your device.
Try downloading one of the resources and see if the icons reappear
(tap three vertical icons, select "Book info", tap "Download")

As far as I can see yhis isn't currently possible - on either Android or iOS - in the Logos 8 app .
Maybe it depends on whether you have made a Logos 8 purchase or not.

Hi Kevin
Kevin said:Might be a beta thing Graham, it is at the bottom of the resource 3dot menu to turn notes on and off, and functions as expected....
Apologies - I had misread / misunderstood what you were saying.
I thought you meant that you could enable / disable notes at a notebook level (which you used to be able to do on iOS) - as opposed to saying you could enable / disable at a resource level. That functionality is available on both Android and iOS
Sorry, Graham

No drama, I was tired when writing the post, and it reading it back today, there are a few too many words in the wrong places, not exactly clear Thanks

To me this looks like broken link - or indexing error. That is what it looks like. If you remove the anchor manually and recreate it the icon will appear. Seems in the conversion into the new notes tool, something isn't working right.

I'm also having this problem and haven't been able to resolve it. When I enable / disable the toggle for showing notes, it only controls the highlights and text markup. I don't see the note icon at all, and I've tested this on iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
I would love to figure out how to get it back! I often add notes without highlighting, so there is no visual cue or connection to the note without the icon showing up in the text.

Just discovered this Logos post about note icons while doing further reading. It solved my problem! Inside a note, you can choose the icon and its color, plus the highlight / text markup.
I'd like to find a way to assign a default note icon and color to a notebook--that would be awesome. In the meantime, I'll just keep tagging them individually.

Hi Josiah - and welcome to the forums
Sorry to hear you are having problems.
I think most of the discussions in this thread related to mobile devices but you mention having the issue on Mac as well so it looks as though there might be something different going on here.
I suggest you start a new thread in this forum and provide as much detail as possible - both for desktop and mobile - and we'll try to help

Don't worry, the Settings app hasn't vanished into thin air! It's probably just hiding in the App Library. Here's how to find it:-
Keep swiping until you reach the App Library. & Search for "Settings": Use the search bar at the top to find the Settings app. Tap and hold the Settings icon, then drag it to your home screen. Go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone & Tap Reset > Reset Home Screen Layout.
More details solution below.
