Dataset Updates: Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2019
The following updates are scheduled to be updated today, February 19, 2019.
Datasets
- Ancient Literature Dataset — include new NT Apocrypha references
- Timeline Events — general updates
- Literary Typing Dataset — Incorporate some data from parables dataset
- Grammar Cross-References (English) — properly include both editions of Wallace's Greek Grammar Beyond the Basics and both editions of Biblical Hebrew Reference Grammar.
Reverse Interlinears
- Lutherbibel 2017
These resources have already been released, so should be available.

Another month, another update, but no additions to the dataset for the Theology Guide you sold us in our Logos 8 upgrades.
(No, i haven't forgotten Phil's update in this thread http://community.logos.com/forums/t/177905.aspx but I still don't understand why all these other updates keep getting released when you're not touching a new product you sold "barely started.")

Yes, the TG has been (and still is) a source of frustration. Phil's update was encouraging but FL has jaded me enough to take everything with a grain of salt.
Where I might differ is, I don't begrudge these other updates...I'm sure there are many users who've been waiting for these like I have the TG.
But I agree with your frustration over the TG delays.
Eating a steady diet of government cheese, and living in a van down by the river.

Oh hey, how do I access these? One of the tools? Bibleworks had a window you could open, and it would show all the grammatical references to a verse, and auto-update when you changed verses.

But I agree with your frustration over the TG delays.
I don't "begrudge" the updates but question the priorities they indicate. My guess is that most of these other datasets are largely functional but are continually getting tweaked. Meanwhile, in three months they couldn't even toss 2-3 new STs into the Theology Guide as a good faith gesture that they are indeed working on it.

I believe this is accessed by the Grammar section of the Exegetical Guide. It can also be used as a independent guide that is a member of a linked set to create the behavior you are used to.

My guess it that different personnel have the expertise to work on different datasets. The updates may not represent priorities but rather the distribution of skill sets. We know that the methodology for the systematic theologies is new - after the release of Logos 8 due to scaling issues. That much we know. Therefore it is reasonable to assume that the workforce with the knowledge required to work on the ST is less than the workforce available for datasets in general.

That is a reasonable guess. However, 3 months-->no new ST entries leads to another reasonable guess: ST workforce/time=0.
The scaling problem should have been anticipated prior to release. My sympathy also approximates zero as this was sold essentially prior to production beginning on it,and not as a "pre-pub" where a reasonable "under development" period might be anticipated
I do see FL has updated the marketing language here https://www.logos.com/theology-guide. I'd much rather see tangible progress being made. This is a chain I'm going to keep rattling.

No, it is not reasonable, or charitable, to "guess" that FL has put no resources whatsoever into this.

In fact, we were informed that the external group doing the tagging was now trained ... in some thread.
