- Anchored note support
- Allow passage selection ranges for AnchorsPardon my ignorance... I know that "anchored notes" are part of the desktop app, but I don't quite know what it means. I believe it is related to creating notes by reference. Right? Is there a reason why when you create a note on mobile, you can't have the reference pre-loaded?

Not necessarily - an anchor can be a portion of text as well (so create by selection)

Does the discussion at https://community.logos.com/forums/p/178625/1032428.aspx#1032428 help (or just confuse further)?

I think so. [:)]
You can’t:
* create a note by reference directly from the text
This is what I was missing. The old mobile notes tool allowed this, right?

Yes it did.
In the current beta you can still only create a note by selection from the note popup - but you can now add a reference anchor to it afterwards.

I've seen this written a few times now, and I've still not worked out what people mean.
If you tap on a verse to set the reference, click on the three dots in the top right and select "make a note" it will be anchored to the selected verse - you don't have to manually select text if you want a note anchored to a verse. You only need to do that if you want more than one verse connected, or if you want it tied to specific text.
Are you talking about something else, or have I missed something?

You only need to do that if you want more than one verse connected
This is the difference.
In the current stable release of the product we can't see anchors to passages longer than one verse.
The beta version makes this possible even though there are some limitations in the user interface.

Ah, ok - I thought people were saying you couldn't anchor to a verse at all in the stable release - that it was only possible when you selected text manually. If it's for multiple verses, that makes sense. Thanks!
