8.3 beta 2: Feedback on the new installation process

I was excited to try the new installation process on my laptop. I'd had to remove Logos from that device, due to space constraints.
In summary, I really like the UI, but there are three big caveats:
- When you're choosing your installation type, you're only given download size, not install size. But install size is vital for this feature, especially when indexing will increase the space required by 25% or so. This needs to be made clear.
- There seemed to be no warning if I was about to choose an option that couldn't fit on my disk. I have only 78Gb free, but Logos seemed happy for me to choose an install involving a 79.5Gb download (+ indexing space).
- Once you've made your selection, step 1 takes a very long time (about 40 minutes in my case, I think) without any progress indicator. There's an indicator for step 2, so no reason why step 1 can't have one.
For those who are interested in what the process looks like, there are some screenshots:
I'm still waiting for the download to complete, so I'll update the thread with feedback on whether the download mechanism worked properly.

That would be good. I asked that it be clarified as a Download size, and that resources should be separated into datasets and library resources to avoid confusion.
It's interested that my Recommended resources (for a much smaller library than yours) was the same as your Minimal. But they would have different library resources, as my size was 6.76 GB for 345 resources. When finished, though, my Resources folder only contained 236 files/resources.

Bump for Faithlife. (The download was fine.)

The main difficulty is that there is no way to provide a truly accurate calculation of the final install size before indexing. Still, I agree we need to clarify. We are discussing whether it would be suitable to use a simple multiplier to get an estimated install size, qualified in the copy: "Estimated total space on disk needed: up to 80 GB"

This is a nice-to-have on our list, but not expected for this version.

We don't have a convenient way to get progress for that step. It does seem odd to me that it's taking that long for you, though; we'll look into it.
