Heavy Web App Users?

About a month ago, I upgraded my router from an N to AC. But I hadn't tried the web app since doing so, WOW!!! This is huge. I am really stunned at how agile it is.

I was wondering if there are a whole bunch of folks who are using the web app now more as their go-to unless they need something in their desktop app. It fires up really fast.

I use it frequently on a computer than can't hold the desktop version. FL has come a long way with it, recently introducing Notes functionality, for example, but what I still miss is my library collections. My only search choices is everything in my library, all open resources, or a custom combination of titles I can create on the fly. To me this is the biggest limitation of the web app. With that said, I am still impressed with the usability of it and how the experience is fairly close to the desktop experience.

Yes, I use the web app daily and find it really snappy and enjoyable. However, I'm not a Logos Power User, so there is much functionality that I wouldn't even know I'm missing. My primary operating system is Ubuntu Linux. The only reason I boot up a Windows 10 Virtual Machine is to Use the Locally Installed Version of Logos 8. Thanks to the Web App, I find that I don't need to do that very often. The Web App has come a long way. I'm grateful for all the hard work the developers have invested in this and the budget that Logos allocated to make it happen.

Some functions doesn't work on Logos web, e.g. in mobile ed links to exercise won't work there.

By the way, since Linux is mentioned, did anyone try installing Logos on Linux using Wine? It seems at least Logos 7 is running ok on Linux: https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=application&iId=771

I tried installing Logos 7 using Wine-Staging 4.1 in Ubuntu 18.10 with the full logos installer from my Windows 10 install. I'm new to wine and found the experience challenging. After a couple hours and no success, I had to move on to other priorities. It was interesting none the less.

Wine has been improved a lot actually. You could try to do it as a late weekend project with low priority and have no pressure to get it done (i.e. just let it run alone when you don't need to use that computer.) Once you get Wine running it opens quite some new possibilities for Linux and macOS. (Such as MS Office, Interlinear Scripture Analyzer, etc.)

Running Windows application through Wine can be unstable (i.e. sudden crash sometimes, depending on application.) It will be interesting to know how well Logos 8 work on it as the table I quoted isn't updated for Logos 8 yet.
