might we be able to right click and hide the notification icon once we are finished reading it?
I keep thinking theres updates to be done...
Click on the "2" icon. Then click the "x" button next to the ones you want to remove.

Might we be able to have our cake and eat it too, by resetting the notification icon once we have read the notifications, WITHOUT having to delete them. It is nice having the last notifications available for reference, so I don't like to delete them. But I also don't like to see the notifications icon continually lit up after I have viewed them. It would be nice of the icon could disappear when the notifications are read.
Can you post a screenshot of what it looks like when you click on the "2" icon?
I prefer the manual set-up. I often want dip in to the list 3-4 times before I want it cleared away.
