Bug: Screen freezes when trying to scroll
On different tablets I've struggled with the screen freezing when trying to scroll through a few different book resources that I have already downloaded. It regularly freezes for between 5-20 seconds, and then allows me to scroll. It occurs both when I go to the resource which is already open or when I open a new resource. That delay is unacceptable when trying to lead a Bible study. Can this please be noted as a bug and dealt with? Thanks

Also, when touching the screen, I end up in an interminable cycle of entering an edit for a note, and touching the screen again and again on white space never gets out of the cycle. Nor does pressing the back button on the device. It is nearly impossible to use it live in front of people.

Hi John, I am sorry to hear that you have had trouble with this. Do you see an improvement if you remove one of these downloaded books and then download it again? If so, please do the same for other downloaded books as well.

This is going to improve in an upcoming version. If you want to get the benefit now, you can install our Beta version for Android. Visit the Google Play listing for Logos (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.logos.androidlogos&hl=en_US) and click on the join Beta button. iOS users can click this link and download the Testflight app: https://testflight.apple.com/join/ftLCn5d6,

Hi Joe. That seems to have worked. It's not quite so bad scrolling now. Thanks.

Hi Joe, I didn't get round to trying the beta version in the end. But I have noticed something that might be of interest. It is that when I try to scroll, if I press on an area of the screen which is white (e.g. in between paragraphs of text) nothing happens. But if I press where there is text, it works fine. That workaround of making sure that I touch a paragraph of text to scroll has helped a lot. I don't know how others find using the app, but that workaround makes it work well enough for me to be able to use it in leading Bible studies, and not get stuck being unable to scroll.

I am glad to hear that workaround works for you John.
We are committed to improving how scrolling works. You should see further improvements in future updates.

Hi, John:
I see this behavior on my iPhone app because I have lots going on in the app. I don't see this on my desktop computer 9more memory, I guess) The "freeze" you are seeing is just Logos software trying to show you everything about the text on the current screen.
If the resource you are reading is not linked to other resources, or has notes or highlights, it will respond much more quickly.

Hi Jack,
I don't have notes or filters or anything on the resources I have used on my android tablet. Very different setup on my computer, though, but that doesn't affect the use on the Android mobile app. It is fast, but just didn't scroll when expected. Speed was never the issue. Now that I have a workaround (which I often forget until I try to scroll by touching the wrong part of the screen) it is ok.
