"Passage Guide" not working in Logos 8.3.0.0020
I upgraded yesterday. Exegetical guide, Bible Word Study seem fine. But totally no response from "Passage Guide".
I am sure I entered the passage correctly.
Anyone having this basic problem? I already restarted Logos and the problem persists.

I have the same version and was able to open the Passage Guide for Lk.13:1-5. When you right-click on the verse, did you choose the text reference in the upper right of the next screen?

Thanks for the reply Peter. I don't exactly understand what you mean....but I think I have tried quite a lot of different ways of clicking, copying....
I am now trying to uninstall Logos and then install again.

Scott, try editing the passage guide by add/removing a section. If this clears it up, you can revert your change and all should be fine. Please post back if you still have a problem and include your logs.

yes, although your screenshot isn't very good. It is best to use command-shift-3 to create the screenshot, and then use the paperclip icon to "attach" it to your post.
I am not an expert at reading logs, but did see this:

On a probably unrelated note: Is there a reason you haven't updated macOS?

I guess that most here trying to help are testing on MacOS 10.14.3.
It might help to describe your system and post another set of logs.

I hesitate on upgrading to Mojave because the last time I did I experienced a lot of problems regarding automation between the apps Mellel and Bookends. That's why I downgraded to High Sierra.
Am I the only one who is still using High Sierra here? [:^)]

it sounds like you have a good reason, but have you checked with those developers to see if the issue has been resolved? It has been a while since 10.14 was released. It is <possible> that your issue is related to 10.13, but that is hard to test.
Hopefully a full fledged techie will be able to peruse your logs.

I could not recreate the problem, but I am not using High Sierra either.
I'm going to ask the dumb question here, and I *only* ask this is because I have forgotten to do this before when using the Passage Guide...did you hit enter or the equivalent button to process the command within the PG search bar?

thanks for asking. Of course I hit <enter>. Everything I typed disappeared after that.

I think it is time for me to upgrade to Mojave and see how things go.

i just upgraded to MacOS Mojave. Nothing changed. "Passage Guide" NOT WORKING.
FRUSTRATING.
How can I follow this further? Can I completely delete the library altogether and re-install the software?

I've not been following this one, but what happens if you open from the Command Box:
Open Passage Guide to Jn3.16
or use a url like: https://ref.ly/logos4/Guide?t=My+Passage+Guide&ref=BibleESV.2Pe1.5-11
Also, curious if localization is an issue, but it looks like your are running US English UI. Is that correct. OS is english & Logos is english? Does chinese bible reference in PG work? I'm ignorant of Logos localization issues, so just clarifying.
I recall this or something similar was reported at least once before but didn't see how it was resolved: https://community.logos.com/forums/t/173947.aspx

Hi Randy,
Many thanks for your help. The url works. I can load the references from my library. Thanks for this.
But I cannot load anything after entering "Open Passage Guide to Jn3.16", even after changing the Bible verses to other choices. Nothing is loaded within the "Passage Guide" inside the Logos App.
I am not sure what localization is. I checked my language preference in Mac (Language & Region) and the first language is English. My language preference is also English in Logos. Chinese bible reference also does not work. In fact I never entered the bible references in Chinese.
Thanks for your detailed reply.

Not sure what is happening. I hate to ask you to repeat all these steps, but it may be helpful to see how logos responds to each of these in the logs. Can you open Logos with logging enabled and run through each of these variations:
Open Guides menu -> Select Passage Guide -> Enter Jn1.1 -> Press Enter
In the Command/Go box at the very top left next to the green GO button, enter "open passage guide to jn1.2" without pressing enter -> in the menu that pops up, select "Open Passage Guide to John 1:2"
Again, In the Command/Go box at the very top left, enter "open passage study layout to jn1.3" without pressing enter -> in the menu that pops up, select "Open Passage Study Layout to John 1:3"
Finally, click the following url: https://ref.ly/logos4/Guide?t=My+Passage+Guide&ref=BibleESV.Jn1.4
After logging all of those actions, post the logs here. I'm not sure this will tell us anything, someone from Faithlife may have to jump in (probably Monday when they open back up), but I'm hoping something in the logs may point out a clue...
