I am considering a new mac, so how do I find out the amount of SSD space that my Logos library will take?
Thanks
Irrespective of Library size, don't get an SSD under 500 GB. If you have 10,000 books or so, get a 1 TB SSD.

Dunno but if it is any help I have 9300 resources and this is the state of my set up....
I use the Mac for a lot of other things than Logos.
Logos wiki => Quick Installation onto Multiple Macs includes Resource location within "Application Support" OR AppData folder for Logos (so can find size of existing installation).
Faithlife development is working on application installation so can choose what resource(s) to download. User speculation is stable Logos 8.4 having ability to choose resource(s) downloaded to a new installation.

If you don't store any videos (or thousands of photos) on your SSD, you might get away with 250Gb. And I don't think having a huge library necessarily means you require 1TB, although more is always better.
I’ve got a 256 GB SSD, and my Logos installation takes about 50 GB. I use my MacBook for other things besides Logos, so I only have about 30 GB free. 512 GB definitely would be better if it’s within your budget.
Steve, I've got a 2015 MacBook Pro with a 256 SSD. I have about 3300 resources in Logos 8. My Logos installation takes up 1.17 GB. Right click on the Logos App in the Applications menu, select "Get Info" and you can see the size of your Logos installation now.
Gordon, the application size doesn’t include your library size. The resources are stored at a different location.
Thanks for the help, PetahChristian. I followed your link and looked in the Library for Logos Resources. It shows my resources taking up 1.67 GB.
My internal 250 GB SSD on a 27" iMac (late 2014 model) has 29.09 GB in Logos4 folder (includes Library Index of 21.77 GB) with external SSD having 94.45 GB in Resources folder. Total Application Support for my Logos 8 is 123.54 GB (hindsight is 20/20 for larger internal SSD).
Internal 250 GB SSD (~600 MB/s write) is faster than external 512 GB SSD (~350 MB/s). Caveat: waking from sleep has had external SSD surprise eject a couple times so have had to restart Logos 8.
FYI: internal SSD has macOS Mojave 10.14.3 (using dark mode) while external SSD has bootable macOS High Sierra 10.13.6 (with two Resource folders for my Logos 8 installations so metadata matches Resource files). The 5K Retina Display has glass glued to frame so replacing internal SSD is technically challenging.
I have a huge library way over 10K resources. The download is about 39GB and the index file is about 15GB. It does fit just fine on my Win 10 machine with a 128GB drive. But it's a snug fit so I recommend you consider a 256GB drive.
