Logos App Shutting Down Repeatedly

Hey all,

I'm in need of some assistance. I have Logos on a Google Nexus tablet with 32gb and have most of my books downloaded on it. I have the current version of Logos on the tablet (8.2.1). Every time I open the app it tries to download a specific book, Illustrated Bible Survey: An Introduction, and it fails. As a result, the app always shuts down. The only way I'm able to use the app is if the internet is not connected. I don't want to remove all my downloads and reinstall as this might not work. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks for your time.

Cheers,

Are you trying to download from the Library screen?  If so could you try opening the resource, then viewing Book Info via the 3-dots menu and pressing the Download button there.

Thanks for replying Martin. I've tried this way and the navigation has failed. So every time I open the app, it still is trying to download the book (regardless of if I try to download it again). And thus the app shuts down (as the download fails) and the cycle of shutting down continues. Any other ideas?

I am sorry to hear that you have been struggling with this.

If you have Logos installed on a computer, try the following.  Open Logos on your computer and open this book from Library.  Click on the three dots in the upper right, and select "Information".  Then scroll down to "Download to" and de-select any option to download this resource on any mobile device.

I simply offer this as a possible workaround, we are working on fixing this issue in a future update to our app.

Joe- Thanks for the workaround, I'll try that.

I'll also look forward to the future fix. All the best.

My iPad mini has had this issue for a while now. I sent in logs and was told I had corrupt files and to reinstall.  I'm so sick of reinstalling I just gave up because with every install I have to go through the tedious process of doing so.  It downloads the old app, then you wait for the new face to come. Sync takes a bunch of time. Then download all your books again. Then recreate your layouts because they don't save. I don't say this to be mean but I do wish it was easier.  Maybe the new update will fix this
