Anchoring or linking or joining
I'm using Logos 8 on a Mac. I have a commentary that I am using that I want linked to the ESV. I can't see any way to link the two. I thought they used to be linked, but if I change the text in one the other doesn't change to that Bible text, which would be my definition of linking, or anchoring, or joining.

Set them both to use the same link set (outlined in red) from the panel menu - accessed by clicking the three vertical dots (outlined in blue)

There are two assumptions you need to make sure you are meeting. Graham described the first (and I've added a screen shot, bottom below, as well)...about making sure the link sets are set the same. Click the three dots in the upper right corner to get to this panel.
The second assumption is a little more obscure...the commentary you are using has to be indexed by bible verse. Most are, but there are a few that are not, and these won't follow the link set correctly.
The way to tell if it is indexed properly is to go to your Library and select the commentary (top screen shot, A), click on the line somewhere other than the title, and then open the information panel by clicking the i in the little circle at the top. Scroll down to the indexes section and look for 'Bible' (B).

Thanks. That was the info I needed.
