Hi,

Can anybody tell me why there is not a forum for Mobile Beta?

it seems a bit odd that everything else is catered for in the forums but we have to sign in to a group!

Thanks.

    No. [:s]

There used to be private (hidden) forums for the mobile betas. I fought hard to keep them, but for some reason they moved to FL groups. There are at least two problems with this:

    1. The users have to be invited in to the group before they can participate. This was true in the old system, but there was a much smaller population of beta testers.

    2. More importantly (for me) is that you can't carry on a conversation as easily on a "social media" website. The forums are vastly superior for that task. The process of beta testing includes having conversations, so why they would move to FL boggles my mind.

Fyi. Faithlife groups have a "Group Chat" option that is great for carrying on conversations.

I am skeptical, but just wrote you back. Thanks for trying it with me though!

    Hi,

Just been looking at the group again. Maybe it’s just me but I think finding your way around is much easier on the forums.

Not wishing to be unkind but I’m wondering if there are a lot of problems on mobile, and with the group setup (which is nigh on impossible to find unless you are invited, quite unlike the forums) It is kept out of sight.

    Tony.

Faithlife is making users use their own groups when they can, but they know the outcry if they totally remove these forums would be great and loud. I used to participate a lot in the beta forum when I saw others with problems I could help with and when I had problems. Sadly, I never bother until I have a problem and unless it's a big problem, I just figure it will get fixed. So, since the move to the new FL beta group I'm far less active and helpful. Not because I don't want to be helpful, but I just don't want to use the FL groups. They are cumbersome and it adds another place to keep up with.

Fully agreed with everyone-I wish we could just use the forums. FL groups is frustrating, unnecessary, and doesn't work as well.
