I know this is not a logos question but figured there is enough of a community here to get pointers. I need a good book in print for an unbeliever who has serious problems related to drinking.
Suggestions?
The AA Big book is pretty good.. Some say they are a cult but I am not really sure.. But the book is pretty good even if they dont actually go to AA.

There’s a companion volume for a Christian to use alongside this. People don’t escape addiction on their own.
Biblical Counseling Keys on Alcohol & Drug Abuse - June Hunt
My personal experience is that books are not usually an effective or useful way to address these issues, due to the implicit nature of the condition.
Saying that all the books mentioned sound great, but is is such an invasive condition with so many inherent defences that, as I suppose is the case with all things, all we can show is the love of God and ask for him to mend broken humans. If he does this through a book then so much the better!

The Celebrate Recovery website has a search engine to find local groups and also has an online store to order resources - https://www.celebraterecovery.com/
To clarify what I am looking for: this is not for someone that I know personally. I was thinking of dropping the book anonymously. Not sure really if this would work but even less sure that the person would welcome a stranger coming and saying hey I know you have a serious problem and I'd like to help if you'd let me. I think that'd be a stretch.
I know that accompaniment is best and perhaps a card with suggestions could be included, I don't know. A bit of an awkward setup compared to others I deal with in the past.
Mark this book looks great. What is the companion volume for a Christian to use alongside this

It would be great to have this in Logos.

It's on the same page. The dropdown on the right lets you choose between the Facilitator's Guide (White) and Study Guide (Blue).
