I noticed Ben Witherington III had a post on his blog concerning Cambridge University Press, so I took the opportunity to ask him about the New Cambridge Bible Commentary, as well as some of his other Cambridge published works, and if he could put in a good word to get them into Logos. He answered very quickly! The post is here. It may not do anything, but he is an editor for the commentary series, as well as a world renowned scholar, so it doesn't hurt to ask!

Wow, I had no idea he'd written that. Gordon Fee's credentials as both a biblical scholar and a passionate Pentecostal believer are unmatched.

And that link opens my eyes to another Christian academic publisher I never knew about, Deo Publishing. Faithlife ought to be in touch with them and try to get some stuff from their catalogue. In addition to more in that Pentecostal Commentary Series, it looks like there are lots of other titles that would be of interest to Logos users. From their website: "Deo Publishing is an independent academic publishing venture specializing in Biblical Studies, conceived and operated as a genuine service to the academic and religious communities. The publishing programme is a direct response to the needs of scholars, their students, and interested general readers."

Deo was purchased by Brill late last year, and Faithlife does have a relationship with Brill already, so that could help.

Thanks for the suggestion, Rosie. I've happily voted for it, having not paid much attention to the suggestbooks UserVoice before.

However, a quick look at the top 100 suggests that a number of these resources are now in Logos, but haven't been removed from UserVoice. Is it given attention by anyone at Logos?

Faithlife haven't been able to progress the interest in the above books. I'm keen to wait for them if possible. In particular I'm keen to get the Gordon Fee Galatians commentary in Logos. I've emailed the publisher to see if any expressions of interest might persuade them to talk to Faithlife. Here's the link to the publisher's site if others want to click on "contact" and see if they can be convinced to allow Faithlife rights to the book.

I hope Faithlife can eventually get these commentaries. Although because it's not looking good I bought the Galatians volume in paperback as I was able to buy for $12. I discovered that Craig Keener's Galatians and Acts volumes are an abridgement of his longer commentaries on those 2 books.

One review I found on the longer Galatians commentary said:

Finally, what about the relationship of this work to his briefer commentary? From my limited sampling I would estimate that about 70% of the text of the longer work is found in the shorter. The Baker Academic commentary includes Keener’s own translation, more excursuses, and much more extensive documentation in the notes (see pp. xi–xii). For those keener on the interpretation alone the Cambridge edition will suffice; those seeking the cornucopia of data and discussion will want this edition.

Of the shorter Acts commentary Amazon state:

This volume is an abridged version of Keener's monumental, four-volume commentary on Acts, the longest and one of the most thorough engagements with Acts in its ancient setting. Sensitive to the work's narrative unity, Keener's commentary is especially known for its direct engagement with the wide range of ancient Jewish and Greco-Roman sources. I'll buy this volume too sometime when I can pick up on sale.
