Editing Custom Reading Plan Dates?

Once added, is there any way to edit the dates (all or some) on a custom reading plan?

    You can change the start date which will change them all.

    You can use the 'adjust plan from here' option to change later dates (which will also change all unread all that follow).

    You can add temporary dates into the plan to help with this, and mark dates read and unread to help.

    Very fiddly, and much work if you need to for example change the interval of all reads from 1 day to 2 days.

    It's been my experience you can delete a specific date and add more or different content to that specific date.

    Thanks Kevin and Matt, that's what I needed to know! But, wow! That's very complex to figure out how to make/edit a custom reading plan!

    It looks like 'adjust plan from here' doesn't respect to span of the future dates and just makes every following 1 day apart. Which doesn't work for me since I'm trying to create a once a week plan that I can adjust and the dates stay every week and not every day. hmmm....

    Yes the way to fix that is to mark everything read that has a correct date, enter a temp reading to a day before when you want the next reading, mark that temp one as read, and then choose 'adjust plan from here' for the next reading. Then repeat for every following date.

    An alternative option is to export the resource to a docx, manually tag 'Pages' where your daily read divisions should be, then reimport the docx as a PBB and create a normal read plan from that which you can adjust to your pleasure. Obviously this does not work if you want to use highlights or notes syncing to mobile, and copyright maybe a factor.

    I am on the fence on which is worse of two terrible solutions.

    Faithlife has never taught how to make custom reading plans or edit them. So, about five years ago I decided to work with custom reading plans only and I did. Now it's nothing to make a reading plan that fits my criteria. You just need to get in and use it for a while and you will learn how. I would say it's worth it to learn about custom plans, but recently I banned reading plans. However, if I was still using them I would only make custom reading plans because you have completely control.

    Thanks Joe, that is helpful on the general stuff. As you can see from our conversation above, editing and trying to change things get complex! Is there anywhere that these kind of explanations are in the docs? Also, do you know if there is any dev planned for future improvements to the Reading Plans to fix some of these complexities?
