if you hover over it, it'll tell you why. Have to select a "resource" filter from the filter menu. The point, I think, is that selecting a notebook isn't discriminatory enough for the reference sort to work. Any given notebook can have anchors to all sorts of resources, plus they can be indexed quite differently. How would the system know how to sort with incommensurable indexing systems or with more than one resource being indexed? I think that's why.

Thank you, that did help. So if I make notes in the book of Judges, one day in the CSB, the other day in ESV and another day in NLT, it doesn't just sort all of the notes by scripture order, I have to choose one translation and exclude all the others? That seems strange to me. It's like it's forcing me to only work from one translation when making notes from withing a book of the Bible.

I love many different translations, however, I do kind of feel forced to use the ESV since they only use ESV in their media. Either way, still a great software!

I don't know anything about media being restricted to ESV. that doesn't seem right. I recall being able to create your own media by right clicking on a selection of text (in any resource) and selecting Visual Copy.
As for different translations, you're not limited to restricting note anchors to a specific translation. they can be anchored to a biblical reference without limitation to a specific translation and then they'll show up in all versified references (bibles and commentaries too). if you add anchors by selecting Add Anchors in the notes tool, then type the reference. if you like to right click on a selected bible text, make sure to select the **bible reference** on the right side of the menu before you select Add Note on the left side of the menu. if you have specific text **selection** highlighted on the right side of the right click menu before you select Add Note, it will limit your note to that specific translation.

In order to sort by Scripture order, you must display by Filters, not by Notebooks. Then, you must select either Bible under the Reference Facet or a Bible Book.
After you tell the Notes tool you want Bible (or Bible Book) the tool can then sort by Scripture order

Whilst this can be seen in different translations, it may not be what you want, as the text of the passage does not appear in the Note, and it is not linked to a resource.

If done in a bible with a Reverse Interlinear, they can be seen in other Reverse Interlinear bibles (ESV, CSB, NASB95, NIV, etc) via the Visual Filter Notes and Highlights (Corresponding).
If you do notes/highlights in different bibles, you can use the Filter, Reference: Bible in Notes, to sort by Reference! Thereafter, you can filter by Notebook, or by Resource; for a specific focus.

I will review these responses and try some of these ways you guys shared. I really appreciate how helpful and responsive this community is!
Logos is an exciting and wonderful software, but learning the ins and outs has been challenging. I can get a little OCD as well, so sorting out notes, from highlights and labels, notebooks and palettes, etc. Has been a little challenging as well.
I'll get there though! Like anything, including the Bible, the best teacher is time spend

You can create your own media from any version, but the English-language verse-of-the-day custom graphics are from the ESV.
