I just looked and I'm not seeing Verbum as an available app in the Watch app on my iPhone (iOS 12.1.2).  I have an Apple Watch Series 3 but it's the same version of WatchOS (currently 5.1.2) for the Series 4.  I don't recall seeing anything from Faithlife regarding a WatchOS version.

No it doesn’t. But what would you expect from a watch app?

This is my personal Faithlife account. On 1 March 2022, I started working for Faithlife, and have a new 'official' user account. Posts on this account shouldn't be taken as official Faithlife views!

Well, duh. Support for a sophisticated search while Pastor Bob is in Matthew chapter 29, of course. Maybe, being a bit too 'Merry', smiling.

More seriously, verse of the day? Devotion of the day? Though personally, any hardware specific device, I'd assume FL would shy from.

I haven't had an Apple Watch for a while (so don't know if they still have it), but the official ESV app from Crossway had a watch app. It would let you select a book and chater and I think I also remember it would also keep up with reading plans.

i would love to have an Apple Watch app that lets me read the Bible. ESC used to have an app and it was useful. MiniWiki shows that you can effectively read on the small screen. A bonus would be the ability to launch audio (like for ESV or Lexham audio) and have it scroll as it reads. I wouldn’t even mind having the ability to read other books, but I think that it would be the kind of thing where you would sync a book to Apple Watch for reading

Why? By the nature of the device, your phone has to be with you for the app to work... so wouldn't it be better to simply read on your phone?

Not necessarily. The iwatch can operate via WiFi or cell signal independent of the phone. Great when you go to the pool

This might be too much to ask for but to have the watch operate as a remote when watching mobile Ed would be great too. YouTube does this

Apple provides that type of functionality. You can control playback (outside of Logos) while watching a video or listening to audio on an Apple device.

Thanks to FL for including Carta and a Hebrew audio bible in Logos 9!

The phone doesn't have to be with you if the data has synced to the phone or if the watch has an internet connection (via wifi or 4g). MiniWiki is a great example of how reading on your watch can be well implemented. The best implementation would be similar to what Audible does with their app, where you choose if you want a book synced to the watch. That book is then sent to the watch and I can listen to the audiobook away from my phone with the audio playing from the file on the Watch.

My reasoning for wanting it (and what I miss now that ESV got rid of their Apple Watch app) is the ability to quickly look up a verse or just to take adavantage of a short period of time to read a short selection or meditate on a text. There would even be times in a counseling session or conversation to quickly navigate to a passage and read it from my wrist when my phone is unavailable or inconvenient to get to. If audiobooks could be sent then the reason would be to listen when jogging, walking, or working out away from my phone.

My Watch has made it so that I am able when I get home to put my phone on the charger in my bedroom and then still be in connection with the world. This has had the effect of making me more "present" at home and less prone to distraction. And quick access to the Bible when my phone is away from me is one of the things I find myself often desiring. Even for dinner devotionals or in conversations with my kids, I would love to be able to just quickly read the short passage of text from my wrist.

This would be a helpful function, and now that the Apple Watch has so many users, a simple app would be a wonderful addition to the Logos suite of ereaders. I would even pay extra for this functionality if it needed to be an extra paid app to justify the expense fo development and to provide a separate interface on the phone to control what is synced to the Watch.

I just got a watch a couple of weeks ago.  I would like to see the ability to have selected verses be able to be displayed so you could quickly get a view of them like on the Modular watch face that can display a complication of a text box.  You could simply glance at your watch and review the verse and then move on.
