Updated iOS hopelessly crashes
Now with the overnight update to iOS, the apps on both my iPad and iPhone crash without opening up at all.
Please don't tell me that I have to uninstall/reinstall? They were working fine yesterday.
I have to admit that I am really starting to regret upgrading to 8...

Try “reset workspace” for the app in iOS settings.
That sometimes fixes this sort of problem

The mobile apps are really independent of upgrading to L8.
Not arguing, but when I had to ride in the caboose (not an L8-er), there was literally an ios Logos8 the caboose people weren't allowed. I don't know now, since I have an L8 license (caboose is still comfy) and don't bother updating my Logos on ios.

Okay thank you I stand corrected

Graham Criddle, resetting did not work with this problem

Okay, JT, I stand corrected. Thank you?

By the overnight update do you mean to 12.3.1?
I updated my iphone to this earlier today and the Faithlife apps are still working on that (I haven’t updated my iPad yet)
So it may be something specific to your situation.
Which version of the app do you have? I am running 8.4.0 on my iPhone

I have 8.4 on my iPad and iPhone.
And I'm running the 12.3.1 now for iOS

Strange - 8.4 fixed some startup crashes
We really need some insight from Faithlife here - although reinstalling may fix the problem but I don’t know

Even though the process can be painful- deleting the app and reinstalling is the only to fix this crash issue.

It doesn’t have to be painful. As a rule, it’s not recommended that a person download many resources to the mobile apps, because, as it turns out, reinstalling is a quick fix for some issues. So I don’t have any more than a couple dozen resources downloaded. And the resources I download to my mobile apps, I tag with “iOS” so that when I have to re-download, I type that tag into the library search bar and tap, “Download…xx…resources.”

I don't have many resources to download, around 75 resources, but the process of downloading notes takes a long time. So Yes, it is painful, because often there is no good time to re download.

I just updated my IOS on both phone and ipad to 12.3.1 and I am having no issues with L8 Silver library which is completely download to my iPad. I wasn't having any issues prior to the update either.
The app downloads in the background so I had no pain with reloading both IOS and LM. If you need resources right away, use the cloud until night time then hit download all and let it process over night?

Okay okay, I went ahead and deleted and reinstalled the apps on my phone and iPad.
And no, I don't download all of my library onto my devices. I do have a lot of notes though; and when I have had to delete and reinstall in the past, it takes quite a while for those notes to become accessible on my devices. That was my hesitation.
So I downloaded last night...hopefully, the notes will be accessible for me when I need them on Sunday.

The iPad app is crashing upon launch on my older iPad Air. I don’t want to attempt a reinstall since I have a book open on there and need to know where my place is in it. Any other solution to get it to launch?

Just updated my iPad and start crashes over and over. This is not a new issue and last time I did an uninstall and that fixed the issue. Looks like another round. Even before I did the iOS update last night I would get infrequent crashes. At church or needing to use a Bible program in public I would use something other than Logos. Nothing worse than following along and crash. Best of luck to you.

JT,
I did reset my workspace. My primary use of Logos is through my mobile devices and the uninstall and reinstall made Logos much more stable but still intermittent crashes. I am not really a Forum type of person but I had to check today since I couldn’t get Logos to start up on my ipad. I once again did the uninstall and reinstall this morning and seems to be stable.
