Hi Howard,
The multiview resources is available with Logos 8 Fundamentals and higher according to this https://www.logos.com/product/54887/multiview-resources and Logos 7 equivalent resources also.
Do you have one of these packages? If not, the multiview feature is also included in the https://connect.faithlife.com subscriptions. There are free trials if you have not used before.
A faithlife connect subscription is arguably a better way of getting features if you have not yet bought a base package. Well worth researching before making a bigger purchase.

I see. I own the platinum package plus other resources which I have purchased over the course of years. I just downloaded the logos 8 platform. if I understand this correctly, I will need to BUY yet another package to get this resource.

You may need a feature upgrade, depending on which platinum package you have, either through a feature package, or a faithlife connect subscription.
https://www.logos.com/product/165933/logos-8-starter-feature-upgrade is dynamically priced, so will take into account the features you already own.

A pet peeve of mine is FL's nomenclature. To say that you have the "platinum package" is not very instructive... For example, I started off with Logos 4 "Platinum". I then purchased Logos 5 "Gold." Along the way I have purchased "silver" and "bronze" packages. I still have those resources in my library.
Originally, packages had the features automatically included... that is no longer the case. As has been mentioned, you can now gain access to features via a "Faithlife Connect" subscription. Personally, I like that choice.

You already have your answer, but to clarify: The software is always free. You do need to pay for new resources and <some> new features... especially features which require new data sets. It does seem a little bit weird that this feature requires a new purchase, but I don't begrudge FL on that point. It does cost money to develop the software!
