Well, my notes are all now detached from the verses
I open like, for instance, and there are 20 note cards next to the word luke, the title of the book... And all my notes are linked to the title, instead of being linked to their individual verses...
Thanks logos... Years of notes hundreds of then, throughout the Bible, now uselessly lost their scripture reference.

Derek, don't panic just yet!
Are you on L8 on desktop or are you still on ≤L7? The old system and new system don't play together so there's a chance that's causing a problem... Please also verify that those aren't Workflow notes (if you have upgraded to L8). It would be good to show several of those notes in the notes tool itself.

I'm on l8, verifying a laptop I travel with...
Notes in l8 desktopddon't seem to contain and scripture reference at all...

Yup, everything is on L8...

Hmmm.... Some notes on L8 desktop are showing correct scripture reference...
I've been seeing inconsistency on the desktop with notes. I'm now seeing references.
Perhaps all is not lost.

Hi Derek,
Currently you are using our new Notes Tool on your mobile devices, but our old Notes Tool on your computer.
You need to use the latest version of our Notes Tool on all of your devices for highlights and notes to work correctly.
Please order the free Logos 8 Basic here. Logos should then update automatically after you open it on your computer(s).
I know this may seem redundant since you already are using Logos 8, but I believe that ordering the Basic will help you.
Please let us know how things go.

As I said, all my desktops and my mobile devices are on Logos 8... My desktop has 8.5.0026
Do I still need to go through ordering Logos 8 Basic? I've already done that and installed that a month or two ago...
Everything seems to be Logos 8... but my notes on my phone are still messed up.

or did you simply install the free engine? If the later, then you are using the old notes system. "Purchasing" (the free) Logos 8 Basic will fix that for you.
Sorry but I don't follow - and I might have missed something.
As far as I was aware the free engine is available as part of Logos 8 Basic.
Is that not the case?

Hi Derek,
Yes, I am aware that you are using the Logos 8 software already. Please order the free Logos 8 Basic, I believe this will be beneficial for you.

AS far as I'm aware, I purchased 8 Basic a few months ago.
I purchased it again this evening. Ran the install (Said my product is already up to date). I opened Logos 8, opened Luke, etc.
On my phone, Logos 8 still shows all the Notes sticking to the beginning of Luke (or other books too).
I should add, these are Notes tied to specific verses, not tied to a location within a specific translation (as most notes are), but linked to a verse - regardless of the translation used.
It's these notes that are not showing up correctly, on my mobile device.

It is my understanding that the new notes tool does NOT come automatically with the free L8 engine, which is why a number of FL employees have been advising users to “purchase” L8 Basic.

I recall seeing an alert several weeks ago that my notes were "Upgrading"
They have not been right since.
Hopefully something will be solved soon.
Again, the majority of the problems seem to be tied to notes that are linked to "Verses" across all bibles, not tied to a word, in a specific bible.

Nah, I just did it AGAIN, right now, just for the heck of it.
I can purchase 8 basic, over and over again.

Me too. Since it costs $0 for me (I already have everything in it), it seems to not register that we have already "bought" it and lets us "buy" it again. Wheeee!!!

Since the Logos 8 Basic is an access-only license, it can be ordered repeatedly, just as the Logos 7 Basic could be.
I am sorry, Derek, I was seeing indications that you might be missing our Desktop Notes Tool, that is why I was recommending purchasing the Basic. However, I can now see that you already had it.
Our Technical team has advised me that Derek's problem is due to a problem with the Net Bible. For each anchored note a duplicate note indicator will appear before the name of the book. We are working on a fix for this.
The actual anchored note indicators are still present in the book where they should be. This is simply a problem with how they display.
Please accept my apologies for the inconvenience, Derek.
