Error on update

I don't know if the update I just downloaded (~35MB) was EBC, or 4.0b, but it failed when trying to update Xceed.Wpf.Controls.dll. The update cancelled but now it won't run again. I wasn't running Logos4 as administrator, so I just changed that. Is there a way to restart the update process? I did Update Now, but it doesn't find anything (presumably because I already downloaded it?)

Thanks, I just did and it failed the first time (running it from the browser), so I saved that file to the desktop, ran it as administor, and it worked.

How about if you get "Error writing to file: C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Logos4\Logos4.exe" just about as soon as the "copy files" part of the install starts? If I rename the existing file, then there is another different one, and then another, etc. I even granted Everyone Full access to this folder structure and I still have the same problem. This is the first time I have seen this error in a Logos release. To be clear, the download of the update works. I can see the msi file in the Installers\1 folder. I can even execute it directly, but with the same result.

(I have never been able to get thedownloaded Logos4Setup.exe to execute as I always get "Setup was unable to download a required file". Does not matter if I try Run as Administrator or not. This happens not just for this release. So I would like to get the regular update method to work.)

Never mind. I got it to work by running the setup exe in the Installers\1 folder. I do not know what the real problem was and why I was getting "Error 1310 ... System error 0. Verify that you have access to that directory." for all these files (according to the Event Manager).

It is now completely downloaded and just downloaded some more resources and it is happily indexing away.

4.0b seems to have downloaded well for me, but first attempt to index failed an hour or so into indexing & the indexing service crashed (I wasn't using Logos at the time because it had also crashed shortly after start-up). I'm letting the indexer run again (although Logos crashed again when I opened it to get the indexer to run--but it always has tended to crash for me if I try to do anything with the program while the indexer service is running)

It opens this AM & mostly works, but if I open my "Book Reading" layout, Logos crashes while building it (attaching log file). It appears that I can open any other layout OK (although it seems this version is slower to "Close All").

Any ideas on what is wrong/how to fix it with the least impact to my layout?

This is connected with a reading plan. I would suggest loading a layout that works and deleting the reading plan that is used in the other layout.

The layout builds various reading plans across 4 monitors; other than that, there isn't anything cosmic. I've loaded all my other layouts, and they don't exhibit the same immediate crash I get with this one (which, by the way is my favorite).

I've loaded each reading plan & resource individually and that works.

I didn't delete this plan because I'm afraid if I delete it locally it will also destroy the (maybe uncorrupted?) copy in the Logos mother ship. As long as I don't use it, I'm OK.

When I was using 4.0a I'd occasionally notice two unique things in this reading plan;

sometimes one of the reading plan tiles (in month view) would "bounce" as it continuously re-sized itself. I could only make that go away by converting the two quarter tiles to a single half-tile with tabs
one of the reading plan calendars often would show the calendar view, but would not display any reading plan items. I always "fixed" that by clicking on the reading plan visual filters in that resource & the calendar would correct itself.

It sounds like there might be a bug in the code, so I'll wait until 4bSR-1 releases in the hopes I can still recover this layout without rebuilding it (being essentially very lazy [:D])

This layouts-cause-L4b-to-crash problem is getting worse[:(]

Now I can create a multi-monitor layout, use it, & save it. But if I try to re-open it, it will build across the monitors then instantly crash. It appears that any layout I build suffers this same fate. I know Melissa posted earlier that this was probably a software divide by zero bug, but it's a tough one for me.

I'll post my latest log files in the hopes that it helps the [co] developers fix this quickly--everything worked fine until V4b+Chesterton downloaded.[st]

I upgraded to 4.0b SR-1 tonight, and also ran Logos' Berfhof "delete UpdateManager folder" fix.

My indexer suspiciously didn't run more than about 2 minutes

Logos still crashes when I open the "problem" Layouts, and that problem seems to have gotten a little worse...I just lost the ability to open another one. [:(]

It also seems that Logos' window operations have become MUCH slower.

Thus far, everything else seems functional.

In the interest of getting this fixed, I'll post my logs from tonight:
