When selecting text, Cmd-C is disabled by the new selection menu. See 8.6 B1 Cntrl+C not working on Mac for details.
In Windows if you do not release the mouse, you can still Ctrl-C, after releasing the mouse the new selection window seems to have focus so Ctrl-C does not work.
Same on Mac. Requires a bit of dexterity to hold the mouse button while typing Cmd-C [:P]
