Hi all,
I'm currently preparing for an assignment on the council of Chalcedon.
Here are the specifications for the assignment:
Why did the Church meet at Chalcedon? What was at stake then and does what they decided matter today?
This essay asks you to define the main issues discussed at the council of Chalcedon in 451 AD. What kind of disagreement had there been which the council sought to resolve? Who were the main people or groups in the disagreement? Why did they think this was important enough to hold a council?Identify the main area of disagreement and what the council decided. Did they make the right decision? Do the specifics of what the council decided matter today, or are they obscure and irrelevant?
If anyone could recommend some good books available on Logos on this (published within the last 20 years), I'd really appreciate it!
