I am trying to get information on the ipad, ipod and/or the iphone. Which is the best one to get. I have a phone so I don't need another one, I wanted something to use the logos app on. Looking for something that doesn't cost much, but does a pretty good job. Maybe you know of someway to get a use one in a safe way. I know nothing of these things, but will like to learn and have this item in my pocket at all times. I know these things cost, but trying to get one that works, not the one with a lots of stiff on it, just one to run the logos app. Any advice!!!

The Ipod Touch is the only device that fits your criteria.

I'm no iexpert, but one I know suggested to me to get an older used version of an iphone (pre-3G?) and get it's cheap data plan; don't need it as a phone, just as a Logos app host.  I've not taken action on that since I'd more like a cheap laptop to run the full app.

The problem with the Touch is you will lose some functionality you might be wanting when you are away from a friendly hotspot.

Perhaps those with more iexperience can elucidate on my buddy's advice to me.

You may need to define cheep for us.

The least expensive iPad will be $500 and will have the iphone/ipad app.

The least expensive iPod Touch is under $200 espeically if you are willing to get one used on ebay/craigs list.

The least expensive iPhone is $50 for  refurb older generation via AT&T, but then you have to pay for a contract.

I think this was what he was talking about, and that data-only plan was perhaps $20/mo

Honestly, the iPod Touch is probably the best option for you ... it'll cost around $200 (or less for refurbish/used), but you'll be able to use all the Logos App feature while in a "wi-fi" spot (if you don't know what a wi-fi spot is, let us know) ... and you'll be able to use the "off-line" features if you are not in a "wi-fi" spot.

Similary, the new iPad that is coming out will cost you $499 at the lowest price because it is bigger screen (and new device) ... and works with "wi-fi" spot.

But if you pick an iPhone or more expensive iPad w/ data service, then you'll need to pay monthly data fee that will cost $15 - $30 per month depending on what device and data service you pick.

    good luck!
