link set - whole layout at one time?
I have set up layouts for most books of the Bible in Logos 8 with 20-40 resources in each layout. I now realize I want each resource in each layout to be part of the same "link set" so if I go to a certain verse, all the other resources in that layout will also go to that verse.
Is there any way to create a link set for a whole layout, or do I need to click on each resource in each layout and choose its link set?
Thanks for any help! I found a forum post about this from 2013 where it sounds like it was not possible, but I thought I'd post now in case an update since then has made this possible.

First of all, it's not possible set multiple resources to a linkset simultaneously. Secondly, it is NOT a good idea to link that many resources (because of performance). You also do NOT need a separate layout for each book of the bible, just like you don't need one for each chapter and verse...if I'm understanding you correctly. Perhaps you want to clarify what you're trying to achieve.
There are other strategies having large numbers of resource open to the correct place depending on what those resources are. Please provide a bit of additional detail.

I work in Bible translation overseas, focusing on checking translations for accuracy. I find it helpful to change to "Romans" layout, where all the commentaries available to me open, as well as 5 English different translations, 5 study Bibles, etc. And also some Greek resources. Then, if I'm wondering about a given word or phrase, I can quickly look through all the different resources to find what they say about that word or phrase. I might come to realize that a verse in Genesis is relevant, so then I switch to my Genesis layout which opens Hebrew lexicons, Genesis commentaries, and some study Bibles. Throughout the day, I continually need to look at specific questions about certain words or phrases, and I click through all the different resources in my layout (or at least many of them) as I try to discern the consensus for the meaning. I don't know if there's a better way to do this, but so far having saved layouts has allowed me to easily see all the helpful resources for a given book without needing to open the passage guide each time. As I notice that certain resources aren't helpful, I do delete them from my layout and save.

Some thoughts:
1. Rather than having tabs for a large number of resources of the same type, use the Parallel Resource sets icon in the resource toolbar. The default is a list of All Parallel Resources, but you can make your own collections and tick "Show in Parallel resources". Have separate collections for lexicons, bibles, and commentaries. Use the Left/Right arrow keys to cycle through resources, or select them from the drop-down.
2. If you want two or three bibles (or lexicons, etc.) to be visible in their own tab, then link them. If you want two or three commentaries to be visible, then put them on the same linkset as the bibles. You can judge whether 6 resources is too much for the linkset, and rely more on parallel resources.
3. i) Use the Information tool. When you click a word in an original language bible (or an English bible with reverse interlinear), the Translation section of the tool will show how it is translated in other reverse interlinear bibles. If necessary, use parallel resources to see the passage in a non-RI bible.
ii) The Corresponding Words filter in the Visual Filters of the target RI bible can highlight the word with the same lemma that you clicked in the original language bible.
4. i) Invoke a Bible Word Study from the original language or RI bible (from the right click Context menu). That will show meanings in your top prioritized lexicons, and the Translation section will show how it is translated in other parts of the bible.
EDIT: link the Bible Word study to your lexicons if necessary.
ii) Logos 8.6 allows a double click/triple click to perform a lexicon look up on the underlying lemma of a word in an RI. See the options under Text Display in the Program Settings tool.
