HIGHLIGHTING TO VISUAL FILTER?

Good points.  I guess I was thinking of it more from the perspective of having the visual filter "file" (i.e. Palette) as an option on the highlighting tool for reference, more than anything.  Also, when studying inductively, while I may have book key words, I will also have chapter key words, so a visual filter won't work well for me personally for that because then I'd have to make visual filters for the entire book, then chapter 1, chapter 2, etc., etc.  In those instances, I create a visual filter for my book key words and then I apply my chapter key word highlights (and sometimes even questions and tiny word notes as shown below) using the highlight palette individually as I'm studying.  Clear as mud, right? [:D]

I guess that's part of my problem, I'm always using this program a bit different than most, I think.  All that being said, I am still VERY VERY happy with Logos 8.

Do you want to know which VF's use a particular Palette e.g. have a list of VF names appear when you click/hover a Palette name in the Highlighting tool?

I can understand that Why?, Explanation + Question, Answer and their associated number would have to be applied as highlights when studying. The use of VF's for key words would have to balance convenience and purpose e.g. have one VF for key words that would apply to the entire book (or bible). You can add new key words as you study (if a word doesn't appear in a chapter/book it can't be highlighted!). The balance is whether you want certain key words to always be highlighted.

As to your first question, I guess my thinking is that I like to have a file that shows the words I've highlighted or are considering to highlight in a particular book.  When I do this manually, I actually keep an index card that shows what I highlighted and the symbol I used.  I show the book highlights, and then what key words I marked for each chapter as the chapter keywords.

As to your comment regarding the "balance," I see you completely understand what I'm trying to achieve there.  You're right...the balance is never easy to achieve.
