I have just download version 8.6.0.0052 for evaluation. I selected ESV as preferred version upon downloading. I have tried to select ESV as priority in Library, but ESV does not appear on the list of resources.

Do I need to purchase the ESV bible before I can set it as my preferred bible?

How do I download it?

    Welcome to the forums.

What Base package did you purchase? If it is the Basic package, then you would need to purchase the ESV, as that bible does not come with Basic. If you purchased a package that includes the ESV, ensure that your first-time library prep and indexing is completed

All of the resources you purchase through logos are downloaded automatically, unless you have changed the default setting for downloading. If you have, then you should be notified when you have resources ready to be downloaded.

Thank you for the reply, Fred.

No, I did not purchase ESV separately. I downloaded the free version (version 8.6.0.0052) to evaluate whether I wanted to purchase the paid version of the program.

I just assumed ESV came with it. I will see if I can figure out how to purchase the ESV and add it to my resources.

    Thanks again!

The Free version of Logos is called Logos 8 Basic. You can see the list of included resources here: https://www.logos.com/product/168880/logos-8-basic. It doesn't come with the ESV, unfortunately.

If you're considering buying the ESV, you might want to consider Logos 8 Fundamentals, which is currently $50 for new customers and includes the ESV and some other excellent resources like the Baker Encyclopedia of the Bible (4 vols.). You get a 30-day return period if you decide you don't like it or want a different package.

    Hi Bill,

Just to clarify, when you ran the installer and it gave you the option to select your preferred Bible the ESV was an option?

Hello Philana. Yes, as I recall, that is what happened. (But I could be confused.) That is why I thought ESV was included. But all is well. I purchased the ESV bible and it is now my preferred version. Thanks.
