Why is this happening?

My BIBLES are picking up the Color Annotations from a Bible that does NOT have "Corresponding Notes and Highlights" Checked. It is turned off. WHY is this happening?

I have 3 Bibles with Corresponding Notes and Highlights selected and One with that option turned off.

The Bibles with the option selected are sharing the Note Colors - they are not sending to the one that the feature is turned off.

The one that has the feature turned off is not receiving color annotations from the other books.

BUT, the color annotations I make in the Bible with the feature TURNED OFF is still sending the Color annotations to the other Bibles that have the feature turned on.

I do not want to see the color highlights from the BIble with the feature turned off. that is why I turned it off in that Bible.

Is there a solution.

When you create a note by reference rather than by selection, the corresponding notes and highlights setting is irrelevant.

By definition, references don't belong to any one version. They belong to all resources that share that reference. So only use this option if you want your note showing in all versions.

Not necessarily... a reference range anchor can be added to a highlight (bad idea by the way!).

Wayne the problem is that it does not 'send' to the other bibles, it 'receives' if that option is selected.

If it is not selected, then that bible will not show the highlights from the other bibles.

Eg....If you make a highlight in bible A, it does not matter whether or not the corresponding filter is selected in A....if it is selected in B, then it will show in B. Likewise if corresponding filter is not selected in B, then it will not show in B.

Think of the filter as being 'Show other bibles corresponding highlights'

As per the previous posts above, if it is a reference highlight, eg anchored to "Isaiah 14:13", then the corresponding filter does not apply, however you were highlighting just a specific portion of a verse and were anchored to "Isaiah 14:13 AV 1873", and therefore it would of been a bible specific highlight, which is exactly what the corresponding filter is used for.

Wayne I believe you are misunderstanding the setting and expecting it to work in reverse of what it actually does. Turning off corresponding notes and highlights filter in a resource does not stop it sharing its highlights as you keep saying in the video and in your question above. The setting stops ithe resource in which it is set from picking up highlights/notes from any other resource. The setting affects the resource to which it is applied as to what highlights and notes are seen in that resource alone and does not impact any other resource.

Thank you - I have noticed that - my big concern right now is being able to highlight some of my Bibles the same way through "Corresponding Notes and highlight" - At the same time, I want to Highlight other Bibles I have with different highlight colors in the same verses. So, I turn OFF the "Corresponding Notes and Highlight" in the Bible I want to Highlight differently than all the others. This succeeds only in BLOCKING the highlight colors from the other Bibles but does not prevent the other Bibles, which have the sharing option turned on, from receiving the highlights from the Bible that has the Sharing option turned off. -- I hope that makes sense - Maybe you can see not why I like to simply make a video to demonstrate what I mean. [:D]

Not sure what "Notes of selection" means?

I know if you make a note it is like making a NOTE file.

I would love to see this changed, I want my 3 main Bibles to share highlights and the other Bibles to be colored differently without the other Bibles picking up the colors... It does not work that way at the moment.

As suggested above, you should be able to use different notebooks to achieve what you are looking for.

If you ensure that highlights from your “other Bibles” are stored in a different notebook to the others then you can disable this notebook from the Corresponding Highlights visual filter in your 3 main Bibles and the highlights won’t be seen in them.

To see if this does what you want, try creating a new highlighting palette and forcing highlights in that palette to go to this new notebook.

If you don’t know how to do this, please advise

I made New Color Palettes and new notebooks to save each Color palette to.
It appears that it does not matter which color palette or Notebook I am storing the annotations, as long as "corresponding Notes and Colors" is turned on, then that Bible will still pick up the colors from other Bibles that "corresponding Notes and Colors" is TURNED OFF..

Is there a way to share/correspond colors with a group of Bibles and at the same time Color another Bible Uniquely, without having the corresponding Bibles effected by the unique Colors in the other Bible.

My apologies for being too succinct in my answer. Fortunately, others expanded my answer. I didn't need a video to understand the precise cause of your "problem". My advice would be to play with the "Corresponding Notes and Highlight" feature until you can correctly predict the behavior. Personally, I use truth tables because I'm a logic freak.

Notice that the "Notes and Highlights (corresponding)" option can be expanded. Expanding it will allow you to turn it on or off for each notebook independently. This means that you can turn off the notebooks that you don't want to contribute to your highlighting.

Thank you for your help with this. I finally was able to figure out what you were saying. You can create a color pallet and use only that color pallet for a specific Bible and turn it off in the other Bibles so they do not share those particular colors - Thanks.
