Prepub items listed in a base package
I'm looking at a certain Logos package and a few of the items which are listed as part of the package are in "pre-pub". Does this mean that if I buy the package I will receive the items automatically when they are finished later?
Also, does anyone know what the various base packages (Gold and up) usually go on sale for in December?
Thanks,
-Jeremiah

Yes.

Are you asking about how much the discount would be?
We won't know until the December sale goes live, but I'm guessing it won't be higher than the 20% (back to school sale) discount that's active now.
Thanks to FL for including Carta and a Hebrew audio bible in Logos 9!

Ah, I thought I remembered 50% off last December on Logos packages.
I must be confusing it with something else that was on sale.

That'd be the unbelievable Heiser sale? It had lots of OT goodies at die-for discounts.

I don't remember.
Checking my history I got Logos 8 Academic Professional Upgrade and
Logos 7 Jewish studies Library Expansion, XL.
One of them had TDOT which I'd been wanting forever but hadn't been able to swing.
There was so much more I wanted, I thought "next year" ha!

The L7 library expansions definitely were 50% off. The Heiser and academic packages had introductory pricing, but I don’t recall whether the standard and denominational base packages were also steeply discounted.

How much is "introductory pricing" usually?

I believe 20% is usually max. I have a faint memory of 25%, buuut I don't think that's accurate. 20 sounds much more in line with the norm.
...Unless you can swing for academic pricing, I don't think package discounts get much bigger than that. I'm very blessed to be able to take advantage of my academic discount.
The Academic Base Libraries were a pretty good deal! That's how I snagged TDOT at a killer price - I was surprised and jumped on it. Thankful I did, as I've been using some of those resources in my recent few rounds of master's courses.

There's probably not a typical answer, because it can vary greatly depending on what FL is releasing. FL has done different promotions for different types of packages.
But if you're specifically asking about the standard or denominational base packages, the best discounts might happen when a new major version ships. For example, when L8 launched, we got 10% additional savings on our first L8 purchase.
Until that point, it would be rare to see better pricing on a standard or denominational base package than the 20% we (typically) have now. The only recent time I've seen standard package discounts hit 25% was a special promotion for Ultimate.
Of course, past discounts are no guarantee of future savings. If you can benefit from something now that's presently on sale, you might as well get use out of it instead of waiting a year or so for possibly better pricing. (Also packages are redone for each major release, so there's no assurance that something in a current base package will still be included in the next major version.)
As an aside, Faithlife Connect customers get 2% back every year, so depending on the amount of your purchase, it may be worth subscribing.
Thanks to FL for including Carta and a Hebrew audio bible in Logos 9!

Thanks for the input everyone.
I minister in a 3rd world country, and while I have an Academic discount for teaching Hebrew, the wage here teaching grad students keeps me very fruggle. Knowing that there is unlikely a bigger discount on the horizon for the denominational package I "need" gives me a lot more peace about hopping on a payment plan.
I really appreciate everyone who chimed in.

There was a 25% discount for existing owners on their first L8 purchase.
Most times a new version is released there's usually one limited 25% discount period. I think for L7 it was limited to Logos Now subscribers. For L8 existing base package owners.
Then there are usually a few 20% sales spread over the two years, and more frequent 10% discount opportunities.
I doubt we'll get 25% again until (or perhaps just before) Logos 9 comes out.

For years been buying base packages products with prepubs in the package not available yet. Those products come to you when they release if you buy the base.

Oh I'm in Faithlife Connect and had no idea about the 2% back. Thanks PetahChristian!

Thanks Richard! Yes, I'd been watching TDOT for like a year and a half. I had collected several hard copy volumes used 1 at a time wherever I could find them on the cheap. I had previously purchased the Academic Premium package (it didn't have TDOT at the time). I took time off from teaching to focus on other ministry activities so I didn't have Academic pricing any more. I guess it fell so much in price since it was added to a package which I owned already? I remember getting it + a commentary I'd had my eye on for some time for much less than the stand alone TDOT price. I was dancing on cloud 9! I do really enjoy TDOT but it's kind of funny; after having learned how to use various other Logos tools, a good deal of what I find in TDOT I'd already learned how to mine by other means (particularly mappings of Hebrew words to their usage in LXX). Still it's quite a gem and it's near impossible to find hard copies of the later volumes in the series for any kind of reasonable price.

Everyone's comments really helped me to get a denominational base package the other day without feeling buyer's remorse. Much appreciated!
