There is a translation issue in the context menu of the Portuguese version of Logos. I am a missionary in Brazil and have been using Logos in my studies and with some students. I have attached a screenshot of the issue below. When right-clicking on an annotated text, the context menu opens up with the options, “Anotação aberta,” “Remover anotações,” and “Exibir informação.” The first phrase, “anotação aberta,” is incorrect. The English version option is “open annotation,” in which case there is a verb, “open,” which is indicating the action which will be performed. The phrase “anotação aberta” could be a literal translation of “open annotation” if “open” were functioning adjectivally to indicate the state of the annotation (the open annotation). The correct way to translate the phrase in question, however, is “abrir anotação.” The verb “abrir” indicates the action which will take place when the button is clicked.
The point is, the text should read “Abrir anotação” instead of “Anotação aberta.” I realize this is a small thing, but as it stands our Portuguese-speaking friends will not really understand what is going on.
