Issue with Highlightening

Hello everyone,

Recently highlightening has been acting strange. After selecting some text and clicking the desired highlight (or using the corresponding keyboard shortcut), nothing happens. I have to do it again in order for it to take.

I have never seen this behavior before.

I recently deleted a bunch of highlight palletes I had created since they no longer worked with the new Notes system. (I had created a separate set of highlights for each book of the Bible and was sending those highlights to a notebook corresponding to that book).

I think it was after deleting all these palettes that this problem started.

I am running Logos 8.6.0.0052 on a Mac with macOS Mojave 10.14.6

Anyone know what's going on?

You could do that in the new Notes, so I'm not sure why you deleted these palettes and (presumably) all the highlighting associated with them?

Some logs may help to diagnose this.

No I didn't delete all the highlights. Logos offers a move function. I moved them to more generic palettes. I went from 74 palettes to 8 palettes. I figured that, with the new notes system, I can now look for all notes from a given Bible book by selecting the book from the "Bible Book" filters in the notes. I figured it was now redundant to create notebooks for each book of the Bible.

This means, of course, that now, I have a huge number of highlights in one highlights file. Could that be what's slowing things down?

Not necessarily. How many highlights per Notebook and in total?

But, please upload logs as per the link in my response above (ensure they include at least two examples of highlighting)

    Dave,

The problem seems to have corrected itself. I'm wondering if it was just taking time to reindex things.

We can't know without logs. The old Notes were indexed with other Documents (Document index), but I don't see that with new Notes.
