In no particular order:
I appreciate the fact that we now have the choice between the new & old interlinear styles, and Logos didn't just get rid of the new one in favor of the old. I can see both coming in handy for my studies
I had to run update now to get the resource updates. Even then it was only 275Mb (ESV, KJV and Apostolic Fathers).
I had to run the update as well after installing. My download was 275Mb as well. I am assuming that is because I do not have any of the AM software in my library, thus no need for self tests.
I appreciate the ability to choose different shortkeys to different highlight markups.
As do I. The old style makes certain types of study a little easier. One request: Can we have a quick toggle of the inline interlinear? Having to check each checkbox in succession is a little cumbersome so a "Select all" button next to the default would be a great way to turn the old style display on and off.
I absolutely love the new "All text" dropdown in search. I have learnt a new word: apocopated. I bet there is no other software on the planet that allows you to search for apocopated words!
I tried to look this word up and it was not in my dictionary. I googled it and discovered the meaning. After finding out what it meant I am not sure how much it will benefit me; but in talking with people about bible study it will sure will be fun to let them know I can search for an apocopated word.

thanks
With the highlight search, is there a way to search for everything that is highlighted i.e. not actually searching within what is highlighted, but searching for everywhere highlighting occurs.
but searching for everywhere highlighting occurs
If you select Highlight in this dropdown list then you can use up/down arrow to move to previous/next highlight.

Ok so they can't be searched using the search tool yet?
It downloaded the update and I restarted and then it downloaded the resources. I restarted it and it crashed but it's still indexing. Windows was searching for updates when it crashed.

I would very much like to see this, too.
Some initial feedback on 4.0c:
Good:
- Thanks for adding the highlighter key shortcuts. - All Text searching options useful
Suggestions
- include a "send to Passage List" option on Search window- allow passage content to be shown in Passage List, as well as reference (as per L3)\- Include custom highlight styles in the All Text dropdown- Include Notes files in All Text search dropdown- More keystroke options for Highlighter Shortcuts, perhaps including <Shift> & <Ctrl> options
Not so good
- I'm not sure what the point of Compact View is as currently implemented. Seems that notes cannot be individually expanded.
clude a "send to Passage List" option on Search window
Did you see the "save to a passage list" option under the setting menu on the Search tab?

It saves to a new passage list when you select that. It would be nice to send the results to an existing passage list too.
I missed that one - thanks!
Ok, I am really impressed with the new features under search, and thank you very much for giving me passage lists back. One more feature and I get to delete L3! But unlike so of my other less grateful forum members, (You know who you are [:P]) I will let you bask in the glow of a job well done and save my requests for another day.
BTW, the implementation of the full page interlinear is truly outstanding as well, I for one was ambivalent about it's return, but with the way you have coded it, it is spectacular!
t would be nice to send the results to an existing passage list too.
Hear hear!!!
Thankyou!
Quite a few nice features in 4.0c! Some good product development thinking has been going on at Logos.
Special thanks for the full reverse interlinears. I was one of those who missed them and asked for them and so am especially glad to see them back. Thank you, very much!

We'll look at this; the goal, though, was to make the feature easy to use. Since Ctrl+ keys are often reserved for application-level commands, supporting them for user-assignable highlights would mean building a UI to warn you about already assigned keys, which wouldn't be easily discoverable right there, etc.
How do I see the new rev. int. of ESV. I downloaded 4.0c beta1 and it installed some new resources. They were not as large as others. Update now returns no new update message. In library I typed reverse and got nothing. Typed interlinear and only saw the regular ones that have always been there.
Thanks for all the wonderful new features!! My feedback, requests, and suggestions:
1. Passage Lists - When I first opened a new passage list, I tried a couple things to add a passage to the list:
- Selected a couple of verses in a Bible window and dragged it into the Passage List window. The mouse cursor looked like it should work, but it did nothing.
- With the Bible verses still selected, I tried to choose Add > Add passages from > selected text. Again, nothing happened.
I later discovered that either of these methods will only work if the selected text contains Bible references. The mouse cursor probably should not turn into a + sign when the selected text does not contain anything that can be added to the Passage List. And I would like to see the ability to drag an actual Bible passage into the Passage List window (that was my first intuition).
2. Topics > Tags view - Thanks, thanks, thanks!
- Can you please add the same choices for Interesting Words?
- While we're talking about Interesting Words, can you please add the option of choosing a Bible version (other than your preferred version) for Interesting Words? I use the Chinese CUV as my preferred Bible version, but the Interesting Words widget doesn't really work meaningfully for individual Chinese characters. I would love to use an English version just for Interesting Words.
3. "Next/Previous verse navigation in resources is now more intuitive" - I fail to see that... can you please elaborate?
Thanks again! Really exciting beta release!Peter
It's in the regular ESV window. There's a new menu called "Display" that allows you to select the visible lines.
If it was a snake ...
Thanks Todd!
So we just open a copy if we want a simple ESV and and REV INT ESV. And default is to go back to simple ESV. Works great. Thanks big time!!
Love the options to use shortcut keys to markup different highlighting. While simple, it is very valuable. Also, the ability to select it with a single key rather than the two key Ctl+K makes life one key simplier. I love simple.
As indicated elsewhere, I also think the addition of Name and Chapter to the header fields of copy verses is great.
While I am not a big fan of interlinears, and did not miss having it stand alone, I do like the implementation. One can either get it out to the way of reading, by having it at the bottom, or in line along with the English words. Makes for quick cheats to reference the greek words, without it being so intrusive. And with options, it fits with whatever one's desires are (skilled and non skilled with Greek). Seems to be well thought through.
Logos terminates when I try to switch to the home page. I don't come up with the home page, but was trying to switch to try the new feature out. I am still indexing, so I will try again tomorrow after indexing is done in case it may have something to do with that. I also have a second PC that is not running the beta. I have previously had a problem with that machine and the home page (I assume that a feature I used on the previous beta was incompatible). The problem on that machine went away when I upgraded that second machine.
I will update my second machine and try again tomorrow when indexing on both machines are complete. I will get a log if I keep having this error and report back.
the implementation of the full page interlinear is truly outstanding
Could you describe how to access it? I can only see the "new" style of rev-int. I see where I can check/uncheck the information lines such as Manuscript, Lemma, Morphology, etc)
How do I switch to the "old" style of Rev-int?
I do have 4.0c Beta 1 installed
never mind, I downloaded the beta update, but all resources have not been downloaded as of the time of my first posting. As soon as 275MB downloaded (BTW it was lightening fast, especially since I am in a foreign country) I got a "display" button and ability to have full-page reverse interlinears.
Awesome!
It is probably staring me in the face; but I cannot find them. Where are the highlighting key shortcuts?
EDIT: Never mind I found it
You need to right-click on a highlighting style.
Love the new search options. I can now (much easier)find everything an author has written in my library. Tried it different collections and it works great.
Could not figure out how to make the passage lists work, but once I did, I appreciate what everyone was raving about. The full interlinear are great. Waiting on the other missing features to be implemented. Please do not forget search as you type. It is the only thing that I use 3.0 for. L4 is too slooooowww.
I agree, this release has some very nice features!
Good work Logos!!
I would like the bible text only view to be in paragraph (and prefer it without verse markings) since the text itself does NOT contain verse markings or verses as separate paragraphs.
Please do not forget search as you type. It is the only thing that I use 3.0 for.
It's there in 4.0b. It's called "Search while typing" and you select it by click on the Search drop down whilst in a Bible search.

Thanks Mark for the info, i was not aware of this.
Ted
I love that we can now link to resources from notes, however, when I do a libronix link to a resource, it opens my Libronix 3.0 install instead of staying in L4 since it is installed as well. Any advice??

This happened to many who installed or updated Libronix after Logos4 was installed. The wiki article below tells how to restore the Logos4 linking.
Problem: Libronix DLS executes the protocol instead of Logos 4
Great stuff. Thanks Logos.
Ditto on the search for all/types of highlights and tags/list view for interesting words suggestions and add another for ability to assign a shortcut key to erasing a highlight.
...ability to assign a shortcut key to erasing a highlight.
You mean like what Ctrl+Shift+K does?
Right you are. I guess I missed that one. Thanks!
Thanks Steve! That did take care of it opening in the wrong version of Logos and the proper resource is displaying as a result of my link click. Curious though, when I click the link the Logos splash screen displays before opening and displaying the resource. Not a big deal but I wonder if it should.
Thanks for your response and help!! [:D]
when I click the link the Logos splash screen displays before opening and displaying the resource
That's 'normal' I'm afraid, for various technical reasons I've long forgotten.
Bradley has announced that 4.0d will eliminate this splash screen if Logos 4 is already running. http://community.logos.com/forums/p/14880/123597.aspx#123597
I was hoping that we would get the ability to view a daily prayer indefinitely as long as the cursor was on the prayer item, like when the cursor is on a verse hyperlink.
As is, the box disappears after about 8 seconds, and all too often, on my second attempt to make it re-appear, I accidently "mark it done'.
Should I have an expectation that this will be modified?
Thanks
Thanks Kevin, Mark and Steve! Great info!

This will be fixed in 4.0d.
Thank you Melissa!
