Downloading resources (iOS)

Apologies if this is a repeat question, I did a quick search but could not find a previous thread if there is one. There used to be an option to download all resources on an iPad by pulling down/attempting to scroll up when already at the top of your library view. Is there still a way to accomplish this? I can't seem to find any download all option in the new Library setup. TIA.

Good question. I usually use the desktop program to mark resources for download on the mobile devices, but do remember seeing that option also.

It is still possible but the mechanism has changed

Tap the Select button at the top left of the library menu, select the resources you want (there is a ”select all” option), tap the three icons at the bottom right and select download.

    A couple of things:

    * Filtering the library before doing this will allow you to download that filtered set of resources

    * There are good reasons for not downloading all your resources - particularly as sometimes a reinstall of the app is required which involves downloading them again

Thanks, Graham. Much appreciated! And thanks for the warning but since I do a bit of travel and it includes some low bandwidth areas, I like to play it safe and go through the legwork of having all my resources local. Two follow ups as I am having a bit of trouble with it.

Tap the Select button at the top left of the library menu

I am not able to tap select, that is, nothing happens when I tap it.

Lastly, on my iPad, when I click the not downloade filter it lists 1,374 resources, but when I apply the filter it lists 691 in my library. Would you know why this is the case?

Sorry for the confusion-i got it to work.

"Select" is greyed out when my library is in the book cover view. When I switch it to list view I am able to select it and download resources. Unfortunately it looks like FL has put a cap on the # that can be selected and downloaded to 100. I have not run into this limit before.

Though, I'm still having the issue re: the discrepancy between the 1,374 resources listed by my "not downloaded" filter and the 691 that are listed when the filter is selected.

Thanks again for the help, Graham.

New glitch: When in the process of selecting resources the selection disappears when I scroll down to select more. It has been occurring when I have between 26-30 resources selected and scroll down to select more, the blue check marks disappear from those I have selected.

I have that problem as well. I can usually get to 27 before it blanks those already selected. I did report it somewhere a few weeks back.

I wasn't aware of that - I rarely use "book cover" view so hadn't seen it

There has been a limit of 100 at a time in the Android app for a long time - it's possible that as part of the recent changes to the Library UI that this code was standardised across both mobile platforms. But we would need Faithlife to confirm that.

    Strange - I can't reproduce that.

Here are pictures in case they might be helpful.

The first picture seems to be from the Library while the second seems to be from the Tab menu. Is that the case?

If so, what happens just in the Library when you apply the filter?

(I don't see this behaviour in either menu but just thought it worth clarifying)

Your question has already been answered, but for clarification: FL does not recommend that you do so. Many troubles can arise!
